a 125 watt CFL puts out 5500 lumens. 5 26 w CFLs put out a combined 8000 lumens, and cost less than a third of one of the 125 w bulbs altogether. Why get a 125w CFL?

No, you can't. You can run a MH conversion bulb in a HPS ballast, or an HPS conversion bulb in a MH ballast. You cant ever run a MH bulb in a HPS ballast, or an HPS bulb in a MH ballast. And you always have to run on the exact same wattage.

For nutes? The ONLY way using a credit card could come back to bite you would be if you were already busted, they would use it as evidence in court. Either way though, you are busted, and a charge on your credit card for plant nutrients would hardly be their most compelling evidence.

Nah, no way he gets his shit back. A buddy of mine was raided by FBI for a completely different thing than growing. That was a year ago, and no charges, and he STILL hasn't seen a single thing they took from his house, and they took several tens of thousands of electronics.

They make pots in almost every dimension i could imagine, both round and square. Would have been MUCH cheaper to just buy plastic pots. Even if you ordered it online, would have been much cheaper, much less of a headache, and much less time.

That kind of looks like a 150w HPS. It depends on temps how far away you should keep it. Start out about 18" away and measure temps. The closer you have it, the faster it will grow. Of course, too close and the plant dies. REALLY to close and the plant catches fire. Just measure the temps...

Are there holes in the cups at the bottom for drainage? How high above the plants are you keeping the lights? They should be about 1 inch above the the plants.

A grow competition where you bring only 10k lumens to the table? I am guessing someone with a 1000w HPS which is throwing 150k lumens down on the plants will make some mince meat of your setup. No offense of course.

Um, just buy the nutrients. Get some miracle grow that is close to 10-10-10 or 20-20-20 for veg, and 10-20-10 for flowering. They are like 5 dollars for enough for several grows. If you dont have 5 dollars, you shouldnt be growing. And who is buying the carrots and potatoes you will be using...

too early. What medium are you using? If they are turning yellow, its either overwatering or heat.

Step one, read the lumen output off the box. Step two not needed. You are shooting for 5000 lumens a square foot or more.
