    The Ultimate Odour Control Thread

Just use some regular MERV 13 air filters for passive intake and stand up the fan/filter combo a few inches from the floor in case you make a flood. This way your carbon filter doesn’t get clogged with dust. Up high carbon filters are only done if you don’t have the space and I still don’t...

    The Ultimate Odour Control Thread

If it wasn’t already addressed, the fan/filter should be situated vertically on the floor with the duct stack pointed straight up no bends. You have no choice but to prefilter room air with MERV 13 or higher so that you don’t limit your carbon life. I’m running Can125’s for over 9 years...

    DIY DWC Nutes

This is based on always getting at least .85 gpw when putting 18 plants started from seed with 4 weeks veg into a 3600 watt hps flowering room with no LST. 1 gpw minimum when doing LST with 30-36 Reserva Privada Sour Diesel with LST.It burns the leaves around the 6th week of flower, yes, but not...

    Help!! Dwc failure!

A diy system will always work better.Better yet, ditch the recirculating pump and just use air stones. Been doing that for a decade. Nothing is more reliable as long as you maintain the air pumps. Air stones cannot give you a flood. A recirculating system+growing roots=uncertainty.

    How I LST

After 14 days of flowering I bend the entire plant down a full 90 degrees in the nastiest way possible as if I were packing it into a bouquet of flowers, with the help of some linked zip ties. That’s the only time I stress train. I do DWC with 15 gallons of water set at 1.6 EC and 6.3 pH (75f...

    Home made bubblers

The 20 gallon Rubbermaid Brute tote is very sturdy but I don’t see them in HD anymore. The price went up to $30 from $20 just a few years ago. The thing I like about the Rubbermaid Brute tote is that it has a completely smooth and flat interior bottom.

    DIY DWC Nutes

Yes. That’s exactly what you need to counteract the ridiculously high potassium hydroxide . It’s based on experience and consistent high yields.

Not supposed to work but it does!!!

So you’re a DWC nut with a container full of water with bubbles bursting above the waterline and you tried to keep jiffy pellets moist from underneath without a top drip and you just can’t seem to get all the pellets moist enough or they just stay too moist. You can’t leave the bottom of a...

    DIY DWC Nutes

It starts around 6.3 and settles around 5.4-5.5 after residing in a 20 gallon Rubbermaid Brute bin (filled with 15 gallons and 2-8” round airstones each bubbling an average of 10lpm of hyper clean air, as measured by an air flow meter) with 2 plants after 7-10 days depending on how far along in...

    RDWC setup (thoughts opinions)

In my DWC rooms I’ve had the best results with 75f water, 84f at the canopy height, 77f at the main stem base. So I agree with Cold$moke that it doesn’t pay to use a chiller to make it a few degrees cooler if his water is hovering around 75f. 65f water gave me the worst results that I’ve ever...

    DIY DWC Nutes

Been using this formula for 9 years with RO water. I’ve changed out about 100,000 gallons (maybe a lot more) with this and it’s the most reliable (and most inexpensive) hassle free way to get away with not checking pH for up to 2 weeks in a 15 gallon res containing up to 2 plants growing to the...

    Massive PH Drop Problem

Start with pH adjusted to 6.3 with 10% potassium hydroxide. It can’t not work. Case closed. I went through this 10 years ago with the exact same nute line that you mentioned. It will drift down slowly. You’ll get about 7 days of a pH range between 5.5-6.3.

(DWC) Slightly smelly rez & salt buildup?

Once you get your aeration to the max , you no longer need a top drip. Not even for starting seedlings. With bubbles bursting everywhere in between the waterline and the top of the bin, you simply leave about half of an extra large jiffy pellet above the top of the bin with the rest of it...

(DWC) Slightly smelly rez & salt buildup?

I don’t get salt buildup (which is exactly what you are describing) but it isn’t necessarily the cause of your root rot . If you go a long time between water changes (even with deep fryer like aeration) you could get that slight fish tank smell. If your aeration is not thorough throughout...

Accidental big yield technique, vertical growing, but not exactly ?

If you lay the colas down horizontally later on in flowering (beyond the start of the 4th week) the bracts separate to reach for the light, apart from the whole bud. Foxtailing is definitely what you get. Throw those foxtailed buds into a tightly vacuum packed bag (after drying and curing) and...

    1k watt heat question..

If you want to make this really work I would suggest you take advantage of your 9ft vertical height. This answer involves a ridonkulous amount of work but it is exactly what I would do in your cabinet (yes, 4 x 3 is a cabinet, not a room) and I have used this method before for very small 250w...

LED Thread regarding stalk weight difference between LED & HPS

By the way, after researching this weekend, I’m almost certain that my upcoming LED test will be trounced by the HPS. I’m just crazy enough to use my strictly controlled laboratory conditions to prove that LED has no chance. I wouldn’t mind eating that last statement either because if it works...
