Air cooling hood set up help!!

It also pays to use insulated ducting to vent the hoods. If you use metallic spiral wound ducting you are getting rid of some heat but not as much as you could if you have insulated ducts . The light hoods combined with the metal duct becomes a sort of one off fan forced radiator of heat in the...

    RDWC without air pumps?

Look up “Undercurrent DWC Plumbing Questions” Post #3 on this forum for one account of 2” bulkheads failing.

    RDWC without air pumps?

Believe it or not, even though 2” might seem like a nice diameter for an RDWC bulkhead it sometimes will get clogged if you grow big enough monsters. The better you agitate the more and faster root development and it can clog. Google “ DWC root clog” and you are sure to find at least one...

Looking to up my bubble game!

I meant to write 54 containers that are not plumbed together. Looks like you have an excellent grow journal in the works Tstat.

No. You’re system creates more labor. Mine eliminates labor. My system eliminates complication by eliminating labor. How are you gonna check 54 containers? You would need to be there frequently. I can sometimes stay away from the operation for as long as 2 weeks. That is completely hands free...

Looking to up my bubble game!

That will work great for a conventional system that has plumbing connected each DWC bin together. But if somebody wanted the option of not plumbing the DWC bins together (because it’s not necessary) you would use air stones. Your method cannot work for isolated bins. Also, your method does not...

It is always topped off. I mentioned in an earlier post in this thread that it is topped off automatically.

Looking to up my bubble game!

Airflow matters when the OP is looking to up his bubble game. The highest level of bubbles is when no matter where you poke a hole in the lid of the DWC bin, there will always be bubbles bursting above the water line to keep a seedling or clone hydrated. When you achieve the pinnacle of aeration...

Pondmaster AP-20,40,60 or 100. Depends on how many 8” air stones (or 4” air stones) you’re running. AP-100 is good to push about 10 lpm through 12-8” air stones or 5.5 lpm through 18-4” air stones if you are running 20 gallon bins.

Haha. You know what an ice cube relay is. Yes it’s true that you can’t compensate higher temps with more air. I agree. The OP did ask to up his bubble game and my approach gives the finest bubbles through the cleanest air running through clean air stones. All while being metered to show you how...

Looking to up my bubble game!

I agree that you need 4” bulkheads to do your system. I even mentioned the 4” bulkhead solution earlier in this thread. May I ask you how many containers are you running with this method? Also, the OP started this thread to up his bubble game. You did not mention anything about bubbles being...

Looking to up my bubble game!

There’s always enough dust in the air to clog the pump. Even using MERV 13 rated air filters. That’s why I resorted to carbon filtered air and I never looked back. I have done all methods of aeration. This works best. Pick an aeration method and I will explain the pros and cons I found with it...

Looking to up my bubble game!

No shit talk. I explained it rather well. My first dive into hydro was with the waterfall method and no matter what you risk a root clog. My method cannot be clogged by roots no matter what. “Waterfall. end of discussion is not a reasonable counter argument”. Not a reasonable debate whatsoever...

Looking to up my bubble game!

Cold$moke, I mistook you for the OP. My humblest apology for that. Earlier in the thread you mentioned that it’s just a matter of keeping the blower clean. You mentioned the Alita 40 or 60. Your method is to allow the dirt to buildup in the air pump, air hose and bottom side of the diffuser...

Looking to up my bubble game!

I know that you have a blower because you want to “...up [your] bubble game” Also, there are so many different ways to achieve clean room air. Phresh filter will be acceptable if it uses the same pellet size as canfan brand. This is what works for me. You are correct that fine carbon particles...

Looking to up my bubble game!

But this method you speak of can fail abruptly (and almost always does) because the root ball will eventually wind up in the pipe feeding the water pump.

Looking to up my bubble game!

Clean room classifications are described in Wikipedia. Using a little common sense, if a carbon filter is running for a little while you are going to shake loose any fine carbon and there will be none left to clog your air stones. Why is that so hard to believe? Carbon filters are absolutely...

Looking to up my bubble game!

Charcoal fines are eliminated after running the carbon filter for a few hours while giving it a gentle tap here and there. So rkymtnman, how would you aerate 36 separate 20 gallon bins? With 36 separate water pumps? My aeration system (my entire grow for that matter) is only visited once or...

Looking to up my bubble game!

Carbon filter. You do not need to scrub an entire lab. Only the amount of air that is fed into your air pump. The cost is still pretty high but not so high if you only have a few containers. I’ll drop another hint to the secret of aeration. Flow meter. Now, this is my last post. You, for no...
