Can a light get too efficient

the peak of 637nm is close to Mr. Mc Cree PAR - so i agree with the spec for the first look. But i`m convinced that a deep gap in the cyan(485-505nm like always with white phos. led chip) is still nothing else than a problem of phosphors and has nothing to do with photosynthesis. I like to eat...

$1200 dollar budget for 8'x4', strips or Cobs?

No problem - the world is filled up with stupid +, ignorant arrogance. Good to know, that a dumb asshole is not able to make profit of my experience

$1200 dollar budget for 8'x4', strips or Cobs?

i remember that you didn`t agree with ~75% heat power production of a led chip. i didn`t change my mind as heat production of led haven`t changed either. i know that i can move energy efficiency - but your mind is out of reach

$1200 dollar budget for 8'x4', strips or Cobs?

for shure - that`s why riu is made for yes - if you want i`m kind of a neurotic watercooler. watercooling in the morning and watercooling in the evening as i have my own brand and company and i do this 24/7/365 o_O during the last 5 years. Before i founded my company in 2013 i lived as an...

Can a light get too efficient

You do not grow or own a light. Off switch activated. Sorry, I can no longer participate. (Hybridway 2016) seems that...these kind of mesages reaches you several times a year .........why ? In this case...are you shure to have any clue about watercooled led light ? Then show your pics, give...

Can a light get too efficient

OK. - next time I`ll put my latex gloves on my 10 busy, quick fingers should be always enough to give a complete treatment to a fucking nazi or 2 ---i`m specialized in operating snotty noses and you can make an appointment @ the helpdesk >:(

Can a light get too efficient

you are a crabby little german NAZI from the most stupid www.grower.ch forum - and more stupid than you is only the tristan who delivered the datasheet. when the datasheet does not even show Vf, If, no binning conditions and a cri of 0,0 i`m shure the one who bought the gonio-spectralmeter payed...

Can a light get too efficient

i hope they still run after 150.000h - with < 20% current and never rising above Tj 40°C ---------------- that will be when i sit on my rose-white cloud # 17 ------and laugh my ass. as i told the dense silicone layer converts a lot of the light into heat, so the layer of warmw chips always all...

SA indoor noob needs help choosing COBs

should be no problem - you could also drive them a bit harder and they will stay close above @ 5°C + to your desired watertemp. my watercooled led lamps work like a radiator yet - and i can bring heat back as much as i produce and with an electr. boiler as much as i need and i can pay, and i`m...

Can a light get too efficient

they are just warmwhite 2000-1600K with a blue450nm led behind a mixture of red phosphors silicone layer with a peak @ 650-660nm. Logically the red orange layer is much more denser and the chips produce more heat than a coolwhite. i buy (&sell) them since years and now they are ~10$ / 100W...

SA indoor noob needs help choosing COBs

3 ways - a watercooled set up beats the air !!! your graph shows only 1 reason why a low Tj can rise efficacy of led light. (~10%) - the 2nd reason is much more evident and important. Light-Heat-Cogeneration is a simple addition of light & heat efficiencies. While your light efficacy = your...

SA indoor noob needs help choosing COBs

i don`t get it in my head, ...that it is so hard, ...for soo many people, ...to understand: - that heat is a main issue of led-tec. - that watercooling is the solution and 3 times more efficient, than any air - or pasive cooling, - because heat efficacy of a led chip is ~ 75% and led light...

SA indoor noob needs help choosing COBs

to specify performance ? i would simply say: the lower the chip temp - the higher is flux and longlife ! and to drive a 50W quality chip @ Tc > 65°C without a good heatmanagement is just stupid.

SA indoor noob needs help choosing COBs

what do you expect in a curve between temps. / luminous flux / and longlife ??? 95°C is close to death - like 42°C fever - or 5°C more in global warm up. i run my chips @ 20°C in the morning and 40°C in the evening.

Proposed COB DIY Build - Advice sought from DIY EXPERTS

it`s a watercooled build - and to bring 125W of led chips this close together is not recommended for pasiv- or aircoolers. BTW that`s the cheapest, most effective heat sink I know - aluminium sq tubes 8$/m as i`m harvesting weed&hot water - i can pay 60% of the lamps electricity bill with...
