    MY first CFL grow :D

Quick update guys, here she is 48 hours under 18w Flo, 20w CFL and 125w CFL without reflector (Because it hasnt arrived in the post yet!). You can see the 2nd set of leaves coming through now. I guess the extreme curving of the leaves is wilting because of the heat, so I've moved the bulb up...

    MY first CFL grow :D

cheers dude! only thing I'm gonna have trouble with is temps I think, but I think 8 12v (4 intake, 4 outake) fans should do the trick, with a 12 inch oscilating fan in there to push it around! I'll upload pics of my set up once my bulbs turn up! Fingers crossed for 2moro!

    CFL Temperature Bulbs

I hear ya dude! are you gonna put 4 together and use them as your outake? I'm not an expert or anything, but I kinda think if you were gonna do that you'd create a kind of vacuum? imagine more air being suck out of a bag than whats being fed into it, it would like suck the bag in, not all the...

    CFL Temperature Bulbs

i would have thought so dude! if the air whips past your ladies to quickly, you could stun them, and stunt your growth.

    MY first CFL grow :D

UPDATE! : Got hold of 3 18w 6400k Flo tubes! £9 for all three! Gonna mount these up the side of my tent. In total, thats 429watts of blue light for her, although my next two 125w CFLs still havnt turned up =[. So for now thats, 179watts of blue, and 20w of red. Not as much as I wanted at this...

    New t12 flouro tube grow

sounds okay to me bro, you got nearly 100w of light, just chuck in a few 2700k's just to give it a more "natural" light. and remember your going to want canopy lighting too! Flo's are good, but not for spreading their light around a small area. Good luck dude! keep us posted!

    Some of my worries

Wait until the plant is a good few weeks old, and you have a good 4 or 5 nodes on it, and the stem has had time to get nice n strong, then cut the plant back at the 2nd node, the first time the leaves grow the opposite way. and then put her into flowering, youll have a nice supported stem so...

    MY first CFL grow :D

Yeh, I'm going to run 8 20w fluorescents down the sides of my tent to get side canopy, then I have 4 lamps with bendy necks which will be on the floor shining up at her with 4 40wCFLs. I've just put an extra fan in there too, just to make sure she has plenty of fooood! :D. I woke up this morning...

    Some of my worries

dude, he meant that 2 grams per watt was being very very hopeful, and you probably wouldnt get that, and if youre getting over 1g per watt then your probably using some advanced technique (I assume SuperCropping or LST) under 24h of light using Auto Flowering plants. xD Think along the lines of...

    CFL Temperature Bulbs

ahh I see, sorry about the HUGE amounts of crap that I've just filled your brain up with then dude :P, I think any plant with some fat buds on it is gonna kick up a bit of a stink! But I've never gone as small as you're doing so I'm afraid I can't help too much! Hopefully one of the more...

    Light setup help!

mate, for a grow room that size, I wouldnt waste my time with going to home depot (im english I have no idea what that is!) or B&Q, or Wal-Mart or ASDA, searching for the little 40w CFLs you get, because they will be USELESS if your rooms 4ftx5ftx7ft, you'd need like 100 bulbs to get anything...

    CFL Temperature Bulbs

also, the reason for them only selling warm white (2700k) bulbs is really quite logical. England and most of northern europe are high above the equator, therefor we live in colder temperatures, so the manufacturors make Warm White bulbs because it gives the illusion of heat (Just what you need...

    CFL Temperature Bulbs

hey dude, you can use just 2700k bulbs, but just remember your plant will grow very thing and spindly! as red light promotes stem growth and flowering. I feel you dude, if your from the UK the blue bulbs are near impossible to find, your best bet is to use eBay for them, but bare in mind there...

    MY first CFL grow :D

Okay guys heres a bit of an update! I will switch her to 375watts as soon as my bloody bulbs arive! Ordered...

    would these cfls work

straps my friend! or cable ties :D The great thing about making your own set up is, there isnt a hell of a lot of boundaries you have to stick too! Just wire em, hang em, and grow em! thats the fun of it all :D Obviously until you burn your house down with ya dodgy ass electrics :P but all in...

    Birdyboy's first grow (wardrobe(closet)/cfls)

Just wondering quickly birdyboy, did you resolve the issue of the lights? B&Q are the biggest waste of space ever when it comes to light bulbs! but there is a logical reason. Most shops in the UK and Northern Europe only sell "Warm White" bulbs because they feel warmer and we are always so cold...

    Some of my worries

And as for Lumens, I would come off of that track asap. Its not just the lumens you want to worry about, its the Spectrums that are being given out. Obviously brighter is better, but not if the light is in the 3000k-5000k mark, as this emits mainly green light, something the plants dont like...
