PH will fluctuate.. Adding nutes and then PH afterwards will cause the "PH chasing" that 70's Nature Boy is talking about. Once I set the PH, thats it. I don't even look at it... The plants will take in the nutrients from a perfectly set PH and throw the PH out of whack within an hour so that...

The best way, try it yourself, experience is the mother of all knowledge. IF you can swing it, grow 2 plants with the same genetic likeness and trim the leaves off of one... See what happens for you..

Ohhhh!!! OH OH OH!!!! DO NOT USE DISTILLED WATER!!! Man I almost forgot........ The PH adjuster needs something to BIND too... This is part of the reason my well water works so great, it's LOADED with minerals and other stuff.... SO the PH adjuster binds to that and allows the PH to be a bit...

I'm just going to leave this here and laugh my ass off... No one insulted you, no one denigrated you to deserve that response. If putting a scale under your pots makes you feel like a scientific genius, by all means, you go for it! However, unless you're able to measure the weight of your pots...

    Please Help Male or Female?

The ball thinned out because the hair is not curled up inside of it and is starting to come out. You'll know it when you got a male... They are clearly BALLS... little round soccer balls of "piss me off".. lol! A lot of times you will see a stalk that the ball sits on top of... thats definite...

Yes, PH the water first, the nutes won't effect it enough to make a difference. It's also kind of why you lower the PH so much, so that it over-rides the nutes. Generally you don't want to adjust PH AFTER you add you nutes, I forget the reason why exactly but I think it has to do with nutrient...

    Please help

Bam!!! exactly... The PH will fluctuate... you're just trying to keep it low enough so/until it "sucks in" enough of the resevoir fast enough before the PH goes back up. My plants go through a 5 gallon bucket in 3 days. Like I fill it on day one.. day two, morning of day 3 it's empty. In...

    Please help

I am running well water that is around 8.5... Don't forget everything is 10x the higher you go.. so.. you would need less ph down at 7 than you would at 8.5, ie: you might only need 1 teaspoon vs 8.5 needing 4. =) Same thing applies in the hurricane scale and G forces, etc etc... =)

Nutrients are taken in at a micro level, how would you be able to tell how much nutrients were taken by the plant between the containers soil, the roots, or the plant itself? You would have to know the chemical weight of the 3 primary nutrients and also the chemical weights of micros. Plus you...

    Defoliating In flower??

Dramatic temperature swings will increase humidity... I resolve this myself by using a nice box fan. Get those leaves moving and strengthen the stems up. Give them girls the "Richard Simmons Workout"!.. heheh

Looks good to me. Don't take leaves off.. You can always tilt and bend the taller plants and Low Stress Train them. The lower branches will pop through the upper leaves. You can also just fold, or push down the big fan leaves so that the branches get light.. Generally though you want to leave...

    Please Help Male or Female?

They don't always show pistils right off... I've had them where they won't show until I put them in 12/12, but I know they are female by experience of that variety. Sometimes they will even pop a male flower out of a female pod.. THAT gets irritating to say the least. hehhe I have one now that...

Yeh you're way over doing it with fertz and nonsense.. plus, I see nothing about PH... PH being a biggie in making "Claw" leafs. Dramatic temperature fluctuations can have a dramatic effect on PH. 61F, in MY opinion is a bit too cold and the plant is slowing down, can't take in more water so...

At the moment I am running Happy Frog, and running a 5 gallon bucket with bubblers to aerate about 4 or 5 handfuls of composted cow manure(sterilised from the store), with water filled to the top. I'm moving to flower...is absolute darkness absolutely necessary?

#5's are notorious for going hermie if they encounter stresses, they can be VERY touchy and it can be any kind of stress, not necessarily light stress.. A fan on too high and it gets a little too cold, or the lights a little too close... It gets a little to dehydrated... TONS of factors...
