Is melted snow good for watering?

There is something wrong with my plant that I'm attempting to correct, I just thought that snow may be an improvement on tap water that I might as well tale advantage of, so no, not a weird thread. Tap water is different from city to city, just because you have never had to worry about...

white widow, 400watt HPS closet grow (medical)

Nice work SC. Happy new year! They look a little wilty, are you letting them dry out between watering (going by the weight of the pot) Not sure how well that tape does at holding that string, have you tried putting a rubber band around your pot and pass the string through it, makes it easier to...

Is melted snow good for watering?

I agree, brita filtered London tap water is fine but unfiltered ain't too good, the lime scale gets on everything! My only reason for wanting to use snow is to give my plants a good source of nitrogen. Will boiling deplete any nitrogen? I'm not too up on my chemicals.

Is melted snow good for watering?

I always let my tap water sit for 24 hours before using it. The chlorine will mostly evaporate. Snow forms around particles in the atmosphere, tap water is supplied filtered and safe to drink. I think tap water may have the edge if snow is not boiled first to kill off bacteria. As I mentioned...

WW Clone. Fim, Scrog, LST 400W HPS

Here she is at 30 days flowering, had either a PH nute lockout or deficiency problem to deal with, she's continued to yellow and loose lower leaves. Added a quarter teaspoon of Epsom salts to her regular feed yesterday to give her a little magnesium boost, hoping she will perk up.

The WHITE WIDOW club, Show off your grow

This is my first WW grow and also my first time using brita filtered water. All started well in vegging but during flowering the leaves started to yellow. I diagnosed this as a magnesium deficiency, as I know the organic food I give her is good I then assumed it must be the PH from the filtered...

Is melted snow good for watering?

If I had that kind of kit, I would! I only have PH paper test strips which suck if you're a little colour blind. From what I've read, it's recommended that you boil snow before using it for plants

Is melted snow good for watering?

Thanks, I've just read an article that snow forms around anything in the atmosphere, be it dust or bacteria! As London has the worst air quality in Europe, think I'll give the snow idea a miss.

Is melted snow good for watering?

Well, it's snowing like crazy in London and I'm sure my flowering WW would benefit from some good nitrogen rich rain water, so, if I gather up some snow from my garden and leave it in a bucket in the house to melt, is this good for the lady? Cheers & happy new year :bigjoint:

    Making Hash Tutorial

My trim was dried and frozen! Have some in the freezer now from my auto AK grow, going to mix it with the white widow trim when she's done and do a little mix :) I think the better the screen, the cleaner the hash, I mean, it's not like we dont smoke leaf matter anyway when we smoke our buds but...

    Making Hash Tutorial

Hey Jack, Thanks for the info. I got some trim ready pretty soon and want to refine my Gumby Hash method. The last (and first) hash I made turned out ok but with too much leaf matter. Let us know how you go on.

    help with deficiency

I think your PH is fine as it is. I pretty much followed the chart for my autos, feeding from about week 3, a little bio-veg, a little more bio-bloom and a drop of topmax every water. Added 2 teaspoons of molasses every week. I still had a little yellowing towards the end though. Finished off by...

should i give my ryders nutes?

I've grown autos and non autos, always feed pretty much the same, though I have refined it with each grow, I'm a huge fan of molasses now too :) So, yes, IMO, go with the schedule. The only thing I don't bother with autos is veg feeding as they flower after a couple of weeks anyway and the...

should i give my ryders nutes?

Feed as normal. I use the BioBizz organic range Here's a feeding schedule that I usually go by on my auto grows, got great results on my last grow (link in my sig) -

    help with deficiency

Adding a little epsom salts will help any Magnesium deficiency. You should be aiming for a PH of 6.5 for a soil grow.

    help with deficiency

It's quite normal for the fan leaves to yellow as the plant reaches maturity but I agree, it does look a little deficient in something. My last auto grow (link in my sig) looked a little like your towards the end but ending up being a great yielder and fantastic smoke. I wouldn't worry too...

WW Clone. Fim, Scrog, LST 400W HPS

Thanks stasis, the 3 autos got me 304g (including a few stems), don't think I'll get that off this WW but you never know! Currently fighting a magnesium deficiency due to PH being off, a lot of leaves have yellowed and fallen off. Adding some Epsom salts tomorrow.
