Help me with a DIY plan!

Yes it would match but you would spend twice the money on drivers. You would also be able to turn the lights up if wanted.

who has grown with other light sources in addition to cobs?

If you build a cob fixture and show it to your buddy he may not want his lights back. Than you can keep them.

who has grown with other light sources in addition to cobs?

Depends on which cob. The good ones are more efficient which will give more light per watt.

DIY COB Questions & Future Build Thread

Going cheap on the drivers may not pay off as much. The meanwells can run four to five cobs at 50w for about the same price as four or five $13 drivers. You would be able to have a better driver with dimming capability for about the same price and it would work well with future upgrades.

The Chinese chips will work fine. There are many ways to get the same result. Weighing your options and figuring out the best solution for your needs is part of the fun. who has grown with other light sources in addition to cobs?

The thread title said in addition to cobs and there weren't any cobs in your list. For some reason it felt like an unfinished story to me. I was just curious so I asked.

who has grown with other light sources in addition to cobs?

I went from cfl to 70w hps to 100w cmh and I am currently using two dimmable cxa3070 3000k AB. I always struggled with wispy buds with cfl and the 70w hps. The 100w cmh would have been better but heat was an issue and the cooltube killed the benefits. I have been able to supply myself steadily...

arctic alpine 11 heatsink with CBX3590

You were right, I just forgot that they come in 72v as well. I've always liked the idea of an actively cooled heatsink that is capable of running passive. You will get more light when running them cooler and still safe if a fan fails.

Will that driver push your cobs at 75w each? Better double check that.

One COB light for veg and flower

Are you on a budget or just looking for the best setup for your space? I have been a fan of the 3000k and 2700k cobs ever since @bbspills showed some fat nugs grown under cxa3050 2700k. Better chips and bins have come out since and there isn't a lot of interest in them. I think two vero 29...
