i know what you mean you hate to rip the plant out.. what i have done to help with this is i save a part of each plant i ever grew.. wether its the Stem, or a leaf. I always try to save somthing from it.

I wouldn't worry about the Ph green, Use some Seaweed/kelp extract and all your problems will be solved.

i suggest using organic fertz. Get some nitrogen sticks, and some Seaweed/kelp extract. Fish emulsion and bat guano are other good things. I fertilize every other watering. I wish you alot of luck !
