Help! Our 4 plants are dying!

Soil is easier to work with IMO, but if you insist on doing a hydro setup make sure you have all the equipment necessary. Those 4 might be done for. Also, I think Earth Juice is really acidic.

    Heat Wave in Mendo!

Yes, we always water in the evenings. We have been watering lightly in the heat of the day, but on the soil and not the plant itself to avoid burning it... Is there any other reason we shouldn't water when its ridiculously hot?

    Molasses

I know molasses is supposed to make your buds fill out and enhance the flavor. Is there any advantage to using it during veg?

    Heat Wave in Mendo!

Like cheesecloth? 1 layer thick, draped over each plant? And then mist over it? Hmm.....

You can put a timer on the power cord for the pump, and it will turn on and off whenever you want.

    Heat Wave in Mendo!

This week a heat wave is hitting my county. Today it was 115 degrees outside! I'm worried about my crop. It's in full sun, and a few of the plants are showing signs of overheating already. Some of the leaves on the top of the plant have gotten crispy, I'm assuming from too intense of sun...

    Stealth suggestions for mailing weed!!

Vacuum-sealing works fine for me... I mail packages all over the country and they have all showed up promptly. Pay the extra for Overnight delivery from FedEx. When I send hash I shape it into a square before I vacuum-seal it, if they wonder what it is I mention "computer parts". If you're...

    Earthworms

I went to the bait shop last week and got 200 redworms to add to my outdoor. I also threw a few into my compost pile. It cost about $1.50 for a container of 50 redworms. Does anyone know if nightcrawlers, earthworms, or redworms are more or less beneficial than each other?

    Trash can water tank

I have a $50 sump pump in the bottom. When I plug the cord in, water starts flowing out of the pump's hose. I usually only run it back into the trash can to mix my ferts and aerate the water, but with a longer hose and a ball valve on the end of it it would work great. Usually I dip a gallon...

    Shultz orchid mix?

Foxfarm is a good choice. I supplemented my holes with 1 bag of Ocean Forest, some Baicor Soil Stimulator, seabird guano, and earthworm castings. If you're concerned at all with having an organic crop you should put in the time and money to make sure everything you give your plants is totally...

TMB77: What's your opinion on the methods from the original post? Do you think it's possible to propogate with the techniques that Tet and Milf tried? Or was Woo full of shit? I just spent an hour reading this thread :D

I've heard good things about that company... How bad is the shipping for bags upon bags of soil?

    Shultz orchid mix?

Does it have an NPK value? For some reason I am inclined to believe that orchid-specific plant products are highly acidic and lean more towards bloom in terms of nutrient ratios. You could make your own soil fairly easily.

Beer is a growers friend... in more ways than one

Can you source any scientific data to back up your claim? What 17 microorganisms? I could see maybe the carbonation being beneficial by oxygenating the water... I wouldn't pour a beer right onto the soil, though, I'd feel better mixing it in the reservior like everything else I feed my plants...
