    COB LED lights

I was looking at the Timber kits, they seem like a pretty good deal for someone like me who want the CREE COBs and doesn't relish the full DIY experience. I'm a little concerned about passive cooling, so I may pop a fan in there blowing onto the heat sinks. What do you think my total wattage...

    COB LED lights

Newbie to indoors here (outdoor grower for several years). I am trying to pick out lights for a new indoor setup. We're putting it into a 7x7 shed outside with a 4x6 tray and 8 plants in 3 gallon pots. I plan to keep the plants under 5' (feel free to tell me any of this sucks). It seems like...

What is dropping the pH of my nutrient mixture every day?

More of a "Just Curious" as I adjust every morning before feeding. Growing outdoors in soil. The pH of the mixture goes down every morning, sometimes by as much as 0.5. I think it goes down more on warmer days. The mixture: Botainicare Pure Blend Pro Bloom Soil Botanicare CalMag Botanicare...

    Outdoor Grower Moving Indoors

Thanks for the reply. 1. Not sure I have the spare brainpower to run 2 separate setups year round, but it's worth thinking about. AFA summer goes, I'm in So Cal, so I germinate on March 1 and put them right outside. No danger of frost here in March (though there is the occasional heat wave)...

    Outdoor Grower Moving Indoors

Hi. I've had a small outdoor grow in So Cal for several years with pretty good results until this year, which has mostly been disastrous. Six weeks of overcast skies followed by 100+ degree temps. Ouch. I'm looking to set up a small indoor grow so I'm not so dependent on a single crop a year...

Advice on when to germinate for outdoor So Cal grow

Thanks for all the help everyone. I have 19 seeds (including 4 of the freebies) for 7 spots in the yard, so I popped 5 of them into the Rapid Rooters this morning. Even if they all die, I'm in pretty good shape. If they live, they should be some monsters by the time they're done vegging...

Advice on when to germinate for outdoor So Cal grow

Thanks. I bought some extra seeds for emergencies this year (freak heat wave in March last year wiped out half my seedlings) so I think that's the ticket

Advice on when to germinate for outdoor So Cal grow

We are up to 13:06 of visible light here. We should be up to 13:30 in a couple of weeks. Right now it's 11:47 from sunrise-sunset Just to be clear, you are suggesting I germinate 25% this week and get them in pots outside before I leave on 3/17? Also, what do think of the shade cloth for the...

Advice on when to germinate for outdoor So Cal grow

Sorry, I should have put some more detail in: What I have done in the past is kept them in the Rapid Rooter tray under a tall vented dome until the 3rd set of full leaves or there's lots of roots out the bottom, whichever comes first. The tray sits in the kitchen window, which gets 3 hours of...

Advice on when to germinate for outdoor So Cal grow

Previous years I have begun germinating on March 1 indoors and brought them outdoors somewhere around the first week of April. This year, however, I have a family obligation out of town from March 17-20 and I'm worried about leaving the plants for 4 days. Someone will be coming by twice a day...

    Early flowering sativa-dominant hybrid

Thanks. I considered the AK, but that still flowers a little late for me. Here's what i went with: C99 Pineapple Express #2 Critical + 2.0 and I also got some white widow to mix it up a little

    Help with bubble hash extraction

I'm not new to growing, but I am new to extraction. We had 4 tightly stuffed gallon Ziplocs of trimmings (small flowers and sugar leaf) in our freezer from harvest last month and we decided to try making bubble hash this year. I read a bunch of articles and watched a bunch of videos and got a...

    Early flowering sativa-dominant hybrid

We grow in our backyard here in Southern California with great results. This year we grew Sensi Seeds NL #5 x Haze feminized and yields were tremendous. Still waiting on the cure to finish but the flowers are lovely. It's a fickle beast this stuff, but you will get baby's-arm COLAs on every top...

    Washing dusty/dirty plants

I have 12 plants in my backyard, mostly doing excellently. The neighbors did a bit of hardscaping near our common fence and it kicked up a ton of dirt and dust which drifted over into our yard and landed on some of the plants. I was intending to hit the plants with a mister nozzle and see...

Northern Lights #5 x Haze in So Cal Outdoor Grow

I have had great success over the past two years growing in my So Cal backyard, so this year I decided to take it up a notch and get some NL5 x Haze (fem) seeds from Sensi. I was wondering if there was anything special I should be aware of with this strain. Some notes: I germinate on March 1...
