Topping an auto strain?? newb to auto-strains.

having grown several crops of autos,I will agree w/ nusky. topping will stunt the plant and it will take a few days to recover. with a normal plant, this isn't a big deal as you have as much time to veg as needed but an auto can't afford to waste a few days recovering. you want a dozen 1/2 gram...

    Overheating

my guess is your intake holes are not big enough, you need a hole larger than the fan.

Help! Hps 600 watt turns on but won't light.

if its new, I would return it. if not, a new cap & ignitor are the cheapest place to start. careful of the cap! they hold enough voltage to bite even after being unplugged

help with this cfl wiring pls, pics included

blue and brown wires mean you are not in N.America right? wire nuts are a very good idea but not needed to make the circuit work a long as the connections are tight. either way, a parallel circuit can be wired 1 of 2 ways. like you are doing it -bringing all the hot wires together to 1...

Secret grow room . . . Input needed

are you using the hotwater heater? if yes then you probably can't use it as most times someone will run a dedicated line only as large as they need. you can post the size of the wire and the ratings on the water heater to be sure.as for wire recommendations,i would need more info. if you are...

heat issuen with new fan - please help with intake suggestions...

what are your outside temps? & the temp in the room? I would set the ducting at the top, seal the top 4 feet or so of the gap in the door & use the duct to suck air out of the closet from the top while drawing cool air into the bottom of the closet. if the intake is next to the exhaust, the air...

    Safety First Electrical Question

sounds like you be drawing about 5 amps so you should be ok. make sure the extension cord is at least 16 gauge,14 would be much better and as short as possible. do not coil extra wire in a loop. after running for a few hours, feel the cord at both ends, slightly warm is ok but if it is very warm...

    Glass lense+reflector question

I want to duct in cold air from under deck window to help temps. Will it work?

should work, consider a thermostat to power the fan and don't blow ice cold air directly on the plants, aim it at the floor.also consider a passive intake of inside air so you have fresh air when the temps in the room are low.

    Wiring Question

I am going to throw a red flag here. if you are running 14/3 wire to 2 seperate outlets and protecting them w/ a 15 amp breaker for each hot leg and share a common neutral, you have the potential to be returning almost 30 amps through the neutral. :fire:not very safe!! :fire: even w/ only a 8...

    Lighting Question.

lots of variables but a general rule of thumb is that a 1000 watt light is good for up to a 5x5 area. I would set up a 4x4 tent for the hps for flowering and a 3x3 tent for veg. or as close to that as the room allows

    Glass lense+reflector question

my guess is no. the heat buildup will shorten the life of the bulb.if you do, remove the glass,it will block a little light so you are better off w/out it.
