Fairly normal for hps bulbs to have some discoloration around the base. I would run it till it pops or replace they're not that expensive. Usually have a hours of use rating on the bulb.

I regularly get into the mid fifties in the shop without too many issues.........you may see some yellow edges and a slowdown in veg.

I found out cool and dark in airtight was better long term than freezing. Significantly better rates after a decade compared to frozen..........will never freeze seeds again.
