One from the bucket list - Malawi Landrace

Ace doesn't ship to Canada. I ended up buying ther seeds from The Attitude Seed bank. I usually try to order direct from the breeders but for when I am having issues trying to find certain strains or when breeders like Ace don't ship to Canada, The Attitude has never fsiled me. Also they ship in...

Growing Landrace indoor -- WHY? What's the Appeal??

I have nothing against the new strains but everyone has them and there are some amazing strains out there that you don't see often if at all. I might try some old school strains next, maybe an AK47, Durban Poison or maybe some Romulan. I love growong weed.

The frame for it is already installed for the second net, I just need to install the front 2x2 and put the net up. I always run two, but I don't install the second one until I flip them and stop tucking branches.

Growing Landrace indoor -- WHY? What's the Appeal??

I am currently growing out four Malawi from ACE. I just wanted to try some weed no one else can get. But this is also a hobby so the idea of a 20 week flowering time doesn't bother me either. The plants are still in veg and are being grown scrog style.

Thanks for the kind words. This strain has very flexable branches, super easy to tuck them. I'll keep tucking until the net is full and then flip them and then let all them branches stretch into long colas....or that's the plan. It'll be interesting to see the stretch when I do that. Good thing...

Going ok in the old grow room. I am pretty sure the predator mites I ordered have killed off all of the fungus gnats I had. Haven't seen any flying around lately. But now I have big fat predator mites everywhere but the people I got them from said this is normal and they will die off fairly...

Yeah, i set my dehumidifier at 50% but it never gets that low. The dehumidifier runs pretty consistently at the end of flower. The plants just transpire too much. I wish I was able to afford the Quest 110 when I bought my dehumidifier but could only afford the Quest 70. It works but barely.

Temps fluctuate about 5⁰f and 5% humidity depending if the ac or dehumidifier running or are off. But gives a basic idea how I run things.

Temp is set for 87⁰f, humidity is set to 75%. My vpd range is .9-1.1kpa. For veg and the first 6 weeks of flower. Then I drop to everything and keep my temp at 72⁰f and humidity as low as I can get it, usually 55-60% to preserve terpenes. All that being said I am currently growing Malawi with...

I water 4 to 6 times a day for 90 seconds each time. My 4 plants use about 120L of water/week. I try to keep my vpd around 1kpa so they transpire a lot. My poor dehumidifier gets quite a workout when I do this but the plants grow quickly.

The plants hare growing exceptionally quick. The old scrog net will be full soon. Getting a few inches everyday on these branches.

Not much to say. Sitting and watching eveything do it's thing. So far I haven't fed them anything but tap water.

I used to but my last grow I didn't add anything but water. I am going to try that again this grow. Nothing but water. Sometimes less is more.

Yeah some of the watering systems out there can be very difficult to dial in or keep functional due to the high maintenance they require. I tried quite a few before finding this one and I'll never use any other type of system this one is so predictable and reliable. That being said, I only pump...

No, I was worried it would die while the soil cooked for a month or longer. I do dust my seeds in prior to germination and then sprinkle it on the root each transplanting. So i do use it, just don't mix it into my soil.

Had extra. The wife used it up in her greenhouse.

My temps are 85⁰f with humidity around 70-75% when flowering. In late flower, usually 2-3 weeks before harvest, I will drop temps to 72⁰f and humidity to 50-55% to preserve terpenes. It almost feels cold in the room when I do this.

So the plants were intentionally slowed down again. My step-dad had a heart attack but thankfully survived it and the following surgery to put two stints in his heart. He's a strong 75 year old in decent shape so recovery is going very well. But as I was saying I left the plants at a lower...

So the plants were left a little longer in the tent due to my work schedule than I had originally planned. Leaving them in there definitely slowed things down with the lower power lighting and no CO². But tonight they go into the flower room to fill out the scrog nets. I am guessing 30 days or...
