My new orchids have arrived. I wasn't sure how big they would be, or how large the mountings they would be on, so it was anyone's guess what would arrive. They are blooming size, fully grown specimens, at least 5 years old. Very very small! But, still too big for my nano rimless. I ordered...

    How are things looking?

Yeah, every one I pick off I pick apart too. Some of them have the little baby part of the plant already formed inside the seed. The shells are firm and still green but they have that very distinctive shape

What is the likelihood of like.... all these flowers swelling up into seeds? I have picked some of the little ones and dissected them, they have what looks like flower stamens inside instead of a seed. Are those likely on trajectory to stay a flower?

    How are things looking?

I really pored over my plants and I really don't see any male features anywhere at all. I continued to pick off seeds. I feel so sad. Could this have happened because I didn't get them in the ground soon enough?

Thanks guys, I'll try to see them through then. I'm not seeing anything male on either plant... but I'm new at this, so I'll see if I can get some more pictures. I did go through and pick off as many seeds as I could find while crying though. This is not my fucking year. I need to sit in a box...

    How are things looking?

I am having the realization that both my plants are full of seeds. All the fat swollen bud looking features are hard and have a seed inside. They're not in all the stems but easily half and there is more on fork than spoon. What did I do wrong? Can I change the course of this by pinching them...

What's up everyone, Jasper was killed by a hawk on Tuesday and I've been grieving her really hard, so I haven't really been paying attention for a bit.. here are some pics. Both girls have fan leaves going yellow and it's probably because between my absence in Maine and my negligence as a...

I made that last post with the painting, and looked up from doing so to see a cooper's hawk killing my favorite bird, Jasper. I can't believe how devastating this has been for me. I really loved that bird. My husband is out burying her next to my rooster. It's been so hot the last few days she's...

I 3d modeled some iris labels to paint so I can keep track of what colors I'm putting where. A lot of the labels have no picture. I printed these with white PLA and painted with acrylic. It takes 9 hours to print 3. I'm painting Mariposa Skies, Mother Earth, and Twist of Sheree on these right...

We got in a little bit ago and he's thinner and needs a walker but he's alert and in good spirit. So, we get to relax a bit, have some lobster rolls and clam chowder. I'm at a rec dispensary in Windham right now.
