    Grow Room is Hot

Hello all, Just moved to a new house. I have decided to give a window unit a try to cool my room. I’m not happy about the window unit as the window faces the front of the house. A mini split is not in the cards right now and I’ve read that portables suck. Tents are venting into the room and it’s...

Quick question what type of barrel connector would I use on the input side of the driver? Talked to a rep at HLG and they suggest an LLT brand but not sure of which one. Thank you in advance, Crunch

But doesn’t the Mg Ca take years before it breaks down and becomes available. I thought that is why people suggest OSF. I need to find a definitive answer on this. To the Google machine!

    GREEN'S PROBIOTIC METHOD

I just transplanted them last night. Pot worms aren’t bad and slowly eat organic matter, but are a sign of over feeding and low ph in my worm bin. I correct it with crushed egg shells and they slowly disappear. It should probably be fine....

Huh, that’s weird. It has to work faster to neutralize ph or this style wouldn’t work. Right?

BuildaSoil, but they are everywhere. As soon as I can get settled I’m going to build some 30 gal SIPs. Earth boxes have a tendency to dry out because there are only two wicks, but my new ones will have the whole floor be a wick.

    GREEN'S PROBIOTIC METHOD

Quick question for y’all, I did notice a ton of pot worms also in my SIP’s. Soil too acidic? Should I add some more oyster shell? Appreciate the feedback.

    GREEN'S PROBIOTIC METHOD

I did not. It was honestly a complete surprise when I lifted the cover and the soil moved from the worms scurrying underground. It should be ok as most of the worms are concentrated in the top couple inches or so, but I’ll definitely take a look in the res once I finish up

It holds 2 cu ft of soil and roughly 3 gallons of water. You really need to tamp down the wicks as they have been known to dry out. As soon as I can I’m going to build a couple 30 gallon. It going to be nice to have the whole floor be a wick.

This was fresh soil and used Colorado ewc while I waited for my own castings. There were worms and cocoons in the bagged ewc.

They aren’t in the reservoir, but in the soil. I did my first top dress before Easter in prep for my next run; then we decided to move. Been keeping the res filled but haven’t poked around in the soil. Getting set back up I checked the soil and surprise, there is a decent population of worms...
