That makes sense actually. Grown in the wild they deal with a whole lot more making them a bit more muscled.
When farmed there are really no predators to run from.
If it's tidal water it makes even more sense as they have to build muscle to be stronger to deal with the tides...

You have way to much nitrogen going on. This could easily be causing the beginning of a lockout.

I use silica for 2 reasons on my outdoor plants.
1 it helps the plants handle high heat better. During the summer we can have weeks on end over 100 degrees with some weeks being in the 110-118 range.
2 it help to strengthen the branches which matter a great deal when you are experiencing...

But as everyone else has stated the plants should be trashed regardless. A ton of damage which will lead to bud rot. I'm sure some is there already.
