    Ec rising IN RESERVOIR

thanks @myke @PJ Diaz EC and pH was more or less stable from yesterday till now. Let's see how the next couple days turn out. I burried my hose beneath a few cm of pebbles. I could go deeper though but maybe the issue is already resolved with a combination of bleach and more irrigation.

Following pictures are from today right before I did everything you guys suggested. Thanks again

Tomorrow we'll see how much my EC has changed.

Ok thanks. Will try that if NaClO doesn't work.

    Ec rising IN RESERVOIR

Oh ok. Just googled wilma and that's pretty much it. I didn't know the name as I improvised the whole system. @jondamon @Wastei That's exactly where I am at now. 5min irrigation every 4h during the day and none at night (currently vegging so that's exactly 5 feeds overall 5mins each; none at...

    Ec rising IN RESERVOIR

Thank you. I actually don't know if I have salt buildups. Maybe when the clay pebbles get flooded and dry out afterwords but how would I prevent it. The reason for so few irrigations was the pretty bad root rot we had last time cycle. When irrigating every hour, what should I do to prevent root...

    Ec rising IN RESERVOIR

I mean I don't have a DWC but top fed clay pebbles without any stagnant water. Just draining through. So I don't know if 1.0 is my target but independent of the EC I set, it won't stay there but rise pretty quickly. I hope it will stop after bleach tomorrow when rez changing. Regarding light in...

And are you sure that I have root problems and not some kind of deficiency

    Ec rising IN RESERVOIR

Ok thanks. Since I don't have a DWC but a recirculating top feed rinse system, should I still use the same concentration as you do? And on another note, do you suggest switching to RDWC in general?

    Ec rising IN RESERVOIR

Ok thanks. Then my current approach is to use purolyt today (probably 4ml/L in reservoir) until I get to chance to buy sodium hypochlorite tomorrow. Should I buy NaOCl in dry form from a pharma store or use a standard bleach product from my supermarket?

@Wastei Just checked and great white contains bacillus amyloliquefaciens. According to their labeling equal parts as the other bacillus genera in there. Currently I use a bit less than a teaspoon per 10L.

Could this actually be a deficiency of some sort?

    Ec rising IN RESERVOIR

Ok thank you. So are you all indicating that I have most likely root problems? Water temps as mentioned are between 16 and 18°C. Is this about right? I have a plant friendly disinfectant Purolyt which also has hypchlorous acid (like sodium hypochlorite) as its active ingredient. Should I add...

    Ec rising IN RESERVOIR

They all get worse. Ec rose from yesterday 1200 to about 1500 now. Today I'll make a reservoir change and use h2o2. pH rose from 5.8-5.9 to 6.1-6.2 today. Does this maybe look like pests? Should i go full sterile and go for base EC of 1200?

    No. Between 16 and 18°C. Penis: 5cm, 1cm, 3g

    Ec rising IN RESERVOIR

Ok thank you, I'll try all this. So: 1. No hydroguard/great white 2. H2o2 3. Non organic Calmag; like Canna Calmag? Or should I add the salts directly? If so, which one to use for calcium? (i guess magnesium sulfate for Mg/S increase) 4. Just changed irrigation from 5min x2 a day to 5min every 4...

It was far too dramatic for temp influence. Yesterday night 0.9 and today 1.3

@Larry3215 I took part in one of your conversations regarding aeroponics but regarding your experience and problems maybe you have a hunch. @ALl if something grows inside my res, could that falsely increase my EC reading leading to me actually underfeeding and consequently developing deficiencies.

    Ec rising IN RESERVOIR

@Average Yo Oh and regarding switching irrigation: That would be possible but I don't know which route I should take? I considered RDWC but as root rot was my problem I was afraid to go the opposite direction (instead of less moisture, 100% submerged). Regarding great white: attached photo of...

    Ec rising IN RESERVOIR

Ok thanks appreciate it. I'll get hydroguard and see what happens. My res temps were almost too cold so I added a heater once but quickly got rid of it. I think 16-18°C is pretty good as it is now. I could go colder if you think that'd be helpful. Regarding the manual feeding: it's not so much...
