I fit about 17-20 gal in each 27 gal tote. My netpots aren't deep, maybe 3.5-4" deep. I need a smaller pump. The difference in water level on the control bucket is much lower than the sites and the pump gurgles after a week or less depending on stage of growth. I'd rather not top off that...

I use 100liter totes so no I don't think 45liter is overkill. This is one tote per plant. I typically grow them 2-3ft. And fill a 2x2 scrog quite easily with 5 week veg from clone.
