i had that exact same light, my results with shitty dispensary genetics were ok. i had 2 plants in 3gal pots, i used to scrog method to best use the lights potential. got 105g dry im sure if the genetics were right, the bud would have been much better.

check out go green LEDs if you dont want to build your own COB setup, when looking at cob fixtures for sale make sure you take note of what chips they use, go green uses CXB3070 chips which are commonly used in DIY projects along with the CXB3590...

I'm not sure why LED light would produce more potent THC. Light photons don't vary, and as long as your plants are getting light in the PAR range (Photosynthetic Active Radiation - the spectrum of light which plants can photosynthesize). there are so many variables in doing a LED vs HPS...

yep they're definitely a great amount of light for a reasonable price considering the technology. I hooked up all 4 lights to a power strip, then that power strip to a timer i bought from Home Depot here it can handle up to 1300w and 15a i believe.

yeah i feel like you could easily cover a 5x5 or maybe even a 6x6, depends on your canopy height really. Those pics are with 6 plants, but we are going to do 8 plants to cut down on the veg time.

Plants definitley responded well, you can see more of the smaller shoots reaching toward the light, i had to tuck and bend even more branches, i lifted the lights to 21" to get a canopy reading at 77f What do you mean? ive never heard of too much light to be honest im curious.

I understand, but im saying those platinum LEDs are overpriced for what they are and how much power they put out. look up Mars hydro, you can get way better ppf readings at your canopy for less that those lights. but COB is def the future, but if you're tight on cash, trust me you can get good...

All i can say is i've bought a lot of led panels, and i even looked at those Platinum leds, and my best advice is that those old 3w,5w,10w diodes are obsolete technology that wont be worth much in a couple years. The future of LED horticulture (as of now) is COB technology. I almost spent $1800...

great first grow btw, i'm still trying to make sure i got everything down in coco before i jump to hydro, but very good idea doing a scrog grow, i was extremely pleased with my results, i'm sure you will be too!
