    DIY led grow

The projects never end for me either. Besides having a full time job and working with my own projects, I am also building a stealth CXA cabinet for one guy and a couple XM-L2 veg bars for another guy. I like your new build Pos, its a nice look with the integrated controller. I have been working...

I love watching your builds and always look forward to your new projects. I'm just going to make a suggestion. When I'm done sanding and polishing aluminum I use a couple layers of low tack masking tape to protect the surface while doing the rest of your fabrication. Don't use duct tape or...

I like the look of that, real clean design/build. It looks like you can add reflectors to those cob holders maybe.

    COB spectral research microcab

Not all of the phosphor mixes are yellow, every company has their own blend which creates their own spectrum. I am not the one you should be asking about this stuff, mostly what I know I learned here on this very site. I spent about a year reading backlogged threads before I made my first post...

    COB spectral research microcab

Yes, it has to do with the manufacturing process. All the diodes are blue under the yellowish phosphor layer so the hotter the temperature the more phosphor is used. The extra phosphor acts like a filter letting less photons through ultimately lowering electrical efficiency. The same goes for...

    DiY LED - Cree CXA3070

@kkman You don't get light leaks? How are you controlling the timing of the on/off and movement cycles? Shoeboxes sound flammable.

@rockett899 What current are you driving them at? I would think for that tent you would need 2 more 3000k minimum, driven from 1050-1400mA. I would hang the 5000k in the middle and the 4x 3000k surrounding it like so. As for how many plants, I never really get that question. That all depends...

5th Official Party Cup Grow Competition

I used to grow on and off for a few years until about 6-7 years ago I stopped. I started up again with LED just under a year ago and haven't really had a crop yet that I would be proud to call my own, even thought its better than 90% of the stuff I can get. Quality is not my problem its yield...

    Another Cree CXA3070 DIY Thread

@medicinehuman I think the serrated edges are from an old production process, all the newer seem to come with 3070N in the corner and have smooth edges now. See links for details https://www.rollitup.org/t/top-bin-leds.843951/#post-10881309...

I can tell you that growth under both setup healthy and vigorous (praying) and that my buddy and I are very happy with both. That being said we haven't run the same stain under each for comparison, or even the same style (dwc, soilless, hempy). There is lots of experimenting and really I haven't...

@pedrovski I can print you one of those stickers, funny how it says it sample 5 pack. how many are they selling you? Either way its not a bad price for the Z2 bin, which I expect it to be. http://octopart.com/cxa3070-0000-000n00z230f-cree-30832938

I took some readings from the other 2'x4' gorilla tent that has 2 Area51 RW-150's in it, I took readings from 12" and 24". I know that the 2 spectrums differ so you can't really compare the numbers from the other tent. I took the readings more so I can see how even the light is distributed...

My partner has 2 RW-150's in a 2'x4'x7' Gorilla grow tent, I think they are a perfect match together. I could do some μmol readings of that setup, I actually want to compare it with the numbers I posted the other day. I will do it soon if I have time, the sensor was expensive so I might as well...

Those are peltier plates one side gets hot the other gets cold, you still need to put a heatsink on the hot side. What @goud means by "put a next one on it" is use another plate to cool the hot side, its a joke can't you see the winky face?

4x2.5 cab outfitted with a diy cxa3070 build

Some power supplies are just made cheap and can't hold up to their specs, I had a couple of cheap wall wart types at first and one also that failed, I can only recommend getting yourself a good reliable PSU because if the fan fails your light will quickly overheat. Supra has tested and was...

4x2.5 cab outfitted with a diy cxa3070 build

Always get a power supply that can handle a bit more amperes than the fan will draw. If you want to run 2 or more fans you can run them both in parallel but you need to add up the current of all the fans and match it to a PSU that can handle enough amps for both.

I got some readings from inside my tent, the quantum sensor is hooked up to a multimeter. It displays in millivolts and I have to multiply by 5 to get the umol reading hence all the numbers end in 0 or 5. The readings were taken at 12" and 24" with currents of 700mA and 1050mA. The way the...

    LED Companies w/ LINKS

@FranJan threw me off today when he said he didn't know that either and he has already built a few lights, these are the basic or electricity. Individual stars or chips inside of a COB are going to use different voltages, even if its just a little. Not all CXA3070 draw the same voltage neither.
