You could use a skillet. I would recommend a Pyrex measuring cup, it will take heat better than a mason jar. Use just enough oil in the measuring cup to barely float the stainless container, or set it on three coins on the bottom of the glass measuring cup.

Tookalook; So why don't you try decarbing a couple of grams just to see if it is actually decarbed. Just because what you have works fine for you is not an indication that it is mostly decarbed.

I like the 2.5 oz stainless condiment containers City Market has. City Market and King Soopers are both Kroger brands so the latter may have them as well. I put it in a one cup pyrex measuring cup that has 2oz of oil, and I slip a temperature probe into the oil next to the container.

I made it with a low temp reflux extraction. Never got over 130-140°. The alcohol was evaporating from a glass bowl in a steel container. As a final step I replaced the pot with another bowl to collect a fair amount of the alcohol, letting the bottom bowl end up with just oil.
