I thought it would be common sense as well, glad to hear that my intuition was in the hunt on this one.

    Mixing Blurple and WW Light

It took me a minute to see what you were referring to, but yes, essentially that. I was going to point the bars in on a ~45deg angle to face into the kessil footprint (they're on a mover).

    Mixing Blurple and WW Light

That's kind of what I'm thinking here. I'd only be adding another 300W to what is only about 560W to begin with, over a 4x6. Since the Kessil Blurple seems to only target the wavelengths of Photosynthesis A & B, and the 3000K is a full spectrum, it would stand to reason that when mixed, it'd...

Thanks. It's not totally balanced, weight wise. If I had it to do over again, I'd make some structural changes. All in all, the post housing isn't that bad, but without well thought out holes, it becomes a pain to secure the heat sinks. I really like having the 4 port fan controller, it makes...

    Mixing Blurple and WW Light

Has anyone ever done this? I just finished up a couple of light bars (140W of CXA 3070 3000K per bar) to add to my room that's currently under a few Magenta Kessils (4x M350 + 6x H150) . Does anyone have any experience mixing spectrums like this?

I went the Fence post route on this one, I'll be doing everything with angle iron in the future. I have 2 of these bars currently finished. 4 CXA 3070 AD Bin running at 1.05mA. MW AV12-12 for the fan driver, running into a pwm fan module. Heatsinks are Rosewill Z300s. Schaffner EMI Filter for...

    Cooliance Heatsink

Hey everyone - I had mentioned these pre-tapped for the Ideal Chip-Lok holder Cooliance Heatsinks. These are the passive cooling models, designed to operate inside a plenum. According to the rep, if you've got good air flow in the room, there should be no concern about keeping the operating temp...

Yeah, each one of those square footprints looks like it should be a 1K. No doubt you're doing work, and 12 plants under 3kW sounds way more in line with my experiences as well. Come on, if someone told you they jammed 78 plants under a 5x10, what would you say? That's not a lot of space, and...

Allow me to reiterate. It's not the fact that they're made in China that makes them junk. It's that the companies who are selling them tend to be very shady and they're using sub par chips and drivers.

76 plants under 2kW? You have to understand where I'm having a big hang up. What size pots? That's 38 plants a light. Not really computing with me. So, what's your medium? What nutes are you running? This is all pertinent information. The Afghan is a heavy yielder, that's for sure. Not all...

Pull solid efficiency numbers, make sure the PPFD is comparable, make sure the chip is reliable, and people will listen. Until then, the PROVEN leader is CREE. Until you make a case with solid numbers otherwise, there is no need to end the hype of the most reliable product on the market. But if...

The reason people don't like Chinese LED is that they don't disclose a lot of the information about the parts used, some companies flat out misrepresent the data and actual PAR readouts, the warranties are shaky at best, and the drivers are usually straight junk. They are, at best, 40%...

Well, where to begin... You're in an LED and Other Lighting forum, advocating HPS. He came here to talk LED. Everyone who knows someone who grows, or has been to a grow store, knows that they can use HPS/MH. You coming to this thread to tell him that was akin to telling him that when the sun...

    Going commercial

The 730nm isn't meant to be on the entire light cycle, only a short blast at the end of it. 5-10min at lights out. I run mine for 10, last 5 of on, 5 off. Finished a Purple OG in 7 weeks, and a SFV in 9.

Why do you insist on coming into the LED forums and talking like HPS is your only option? It's tiresome. As for OP: I'd steer clear of those, not a fan of monochromatic panels. You could probably go with some of the older tech like the 3070s that have come down significantly in price depending...
