Kelp Extract & Fulvic Acid Solution For Clones

I think this new crop will be ready for cloning in about 3-4 weeks (I'm going to follow Smith's advice and wait until the girls are at least 2 months old. But yeah, I'm excited to try something new, so looking forward to using this. I'll make sure I run a few control clones using my previous...

    The Main-Lining Thread

Well some of those factors are certainly the same, mine were sativa dominant, with those long thin leaves, airy buds and fairly low yield, also feminized, I'm trying to recall the strain, but it escapes me at the moment. Grown too many strains over the years, and unfortunately one of my biggest...

    The Main-Lining Thread

YES!!! Man that's the first time I've found anyone else with this mutation. This happened to me a few years ago, and I can't find the pic of it now, but I had two shade leaves on one plant throw these little buds, really flipped me out at the time, lol. I also remember thinking at the time...

    Heatsinks for DIY LED lamps

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention that, I did use some paste, something called Thermaltake TG-7, says it has diamond powder in it (rated 3.3 W/m-k). Also completely forgot to mention the constituent parts, doh!! :dunce: 3 - Citizen CLU048-1818 90CRI 4000K 2 - Citizen CLU048-1818 90CRI 3500K...

    Heatsinks for DIY LED lamps

Thanks Ichabod, I'll remember that when I do another run. One question, since I only want to account for the heat dissipated from the COBs, should the water temperature be equal to the ambient air temp or close to it?

    Heatsinks for DIY LED lamps

NastyN8t posted this earlier on this thread, quite the getup, like COBs meet Frankenstein's monster, lol. Heatsinks for DIY LED lamps EDIT: Hmm, that didn't quite work the way I expected, that is a link that will take you to the post in question though, definitely worth a gander ;?D

    Heatsinks for DIY LED lamps

I used that thermal epoxy, took a while to decide how to do it. I thought about just epoxying the COB to the bar, but then thought I might want to change them in the future, so I took the Ideal holder, had to file off the small plastic nubs that protruded a bit on the bottom, and applied epoxy...

    Heatsinks for DIY LED lamps

So I have my prototype water cooled light up and running. Just tested it today, let it run for a couple of hours to see what was what, and so far it's staying cool as a cucumber, or at least the heat sink. I put a small fountain pump (185 g/hr) in a 5-gal bucket and circulated it through the...

DIY Cobs . is it real or is it fantasy.

Not sure if you mean like is the photon output the same, or do you mean the difference between the two technologies? I'm no expert on the first, but from what I've been reading, aside from efficiency (i.e. more energy goes into light/photons and therefore less into heat generation, so can save...

DIY Cobs . is it real or is it fantasy.

Also I think this is wrong. I've kinda been checking back over the years as LED tech matured, and at least from my XP I think the prices have definitely come down, and again there are some pretty simple kits and plans out there to do build them pretty cheap. Sure, the trade-off is time, as in...

DIY Cobs . is it real or is it fantasy.

Well I'd have to question some of your assumptions, but in the end it depends completely on the individual regarding time and ability. I'm brand new to the DIY LED arena, and I'll admit that from my experience the learning curve for someone who doesn't have any electronic background is a bit...

Kelp Extract & Fulvic Acid Solution For Clones

I'm especially curious about spraying this stuff on freshly cut clones (or if not fresh, sometime between cutting and seeing roots). Does anyone else do this???

Kelp Extract & Fulvic Acid Solution For Clones

Nothing, no opinions on this? I've got some kelp extract and fulvic acid in the mail, and I've got a couple of mom's I'll give this a try on in a few weeks when I'm ready for the next batch. If this does what the Dr.Smith claims I'll post back with my results. Has anyone else watched any of...

Kelp Extract & Fulvic Acid Solution For Clones

So knowing that kelp extract contains natural auxins that stimulate root formation, he recommends feeding this to your mother plant, along with fulvic acid which he says boosts uptake. He claims you can cut clone root development time by as much as half doing this.

Kelp Extract & Fulvic Acid Solution For Clones

Where growing is concerned, I'm normally open to new ideas, provided of course they are based in sound scientific theory, so this looks promising. While browsing Youtube I came across some videos by a Dr. Harley Smith which were very informative and raised some interesting questions. Fyi, he...

Thermoelectric Generators - Converting Waste Heat To Electricity

Lol, I was thinking the exact same thing, but I'm not sure how many solar panels you could fit in your grow room, especially as the canopy started to fill in. And if mounted on the walls, they would absorb rather than reflect, which could essentially rob your plants of some small amount of...

Thermoelectric Generators - Converting Waste Heat To Electricity

SE's are cool, but they are bulky and I don't think they would be as efficient at converting the waste heat if you had to move it from the COB's to wherever the SE was located, and then use the SE to power a small generator, I presume.

Thermoelectric Generators - Converting Waste Heat To Electricity

I tend to agree, TEG's are different or have a different purpose than TEC's, the former is used to generate electricity from waste heat, which is what I was considering, not so much to cool COBs. As I understand it, you would mount the TEG between the COB and the heat sink, and depending on...

    Water cooled COBs

Hey Lofty, just want to say I really like your water-cooled light bar, and the radiator/fan setup it exactly as I imagine mine will be when I get done with it. I'm building a 46" prototype, using 6" x 2" aluminum tube though, with the idea of getting rid of the individual blocks and all the...

Thermoelectric Generators - Converting Waste Heat To Electricity

So it this just old news or has this been tried without success on COB builds???
