i had no idea you had so many talents up your sleeve! shutter lag KILLS me when i'm trying to take pics of my kid.... i find myself abusing the rapid fire mode.

checking the runoff is a good indicator of a medium's buffering capacity at the time of watering. except that isn't a good indication of pH stability.... a lot of the fluctuation happens during the actual nitrogen uptake by the root hairs, which will continue to happen until your next watering...

that and 5.5 - 5.7 is a touch low for my liking...... if that's what they claim it buffers to (which it doesn't).

also: i haven't used it, but there's an OMRI certified fungicide called 'actinovate' -- i got some literature for it at the agriculture show but have no idea whether it actually works or not.

i can attest to the milk/water combo (although i do 1 part skim to 10 parts water) - you can also use whey (closest everyday source would be the watery stuff you find on top of yoghurt). i've never noticed a rotten milk smell, and i've been using it since around '01 when i was first given the...

i wonder what they're basing their claims on...... been using soilless (usually sunshine 4 or promix hp) for damn near 20 years now, and the pH certainly fluctuates over the course of a grow, and you can certainly overnute in it.
