use hash if you're going to use condensed milk -- by the time it's extracted you'll end up with an unfilterable toffee-like material. (voice of experience.) i personally prefer halfnhalf. whipping cream tries to separate and you have to re-homogenize it -- can be PIA.

the only correction i would make is you don't want to "boil" the mixture, whatever you end up using -- at most you want to achieve a simmer -- a rolling boil is too hot.
