when I had to haul large amounts through the woods i used duffle bags. any type of plastic bag (even the thick ones) tend to snag and rip on your way out no matter how careful you try to be. Hockey bags can be usefull too, I guess it all depends how much your trying to bring out of the woods.

I would say you wanna do a little bit of the same thing as small plants and try to adjust them to being outside by bringing them out for a little while each day and get them accustomed to the daylight and weather. This will help them "harden off". if you just take em outside im sure it wont die...
