Yes that is true. And of course. I only soaked the pots once. Now I am waiting for sprout. And while waiting just misting the tops of the pots 2x a day. Once sprout. I'll just keep center moist for about a week or less. Then its game time lol

Alright I just started a new crop. 8 autoflowers in 1.5 gallon pots. Coco/perlite from Mother Earth. I mixed 2.5ml cal mag per 1gl water ph 5.8 I soaked the pots with calmag water I then let then dry and planted the seeds directly. (After moistening the coco obviously) Now I'm curious...

Out of these 4 giant plants only the GDP is putting off any kind of smell. And its FAINT

A lot of strainswont start smelling "dank" until week 8-9. Some just don't until harvest. They rarely put off the "weed" smell prior unless they're being hurt.
