Noticed these worms things when topdressing my soil with alfalfa meal today anyone know what they are there was probably 20 i could see around the dirt

i use a exacto knife then ended up cover the incision with gardening tape

i had the same thing last year it was a European bore worm had to cut open the stalk and peel it out with tweezers mine was maybe two inches above the hole but yours looks like its been there longer

where i live weather is usually in the 40s-50s Fahrenheit during harvest and i hang them in my unheated garage will the cold mess up my weed if i budwash
