Before , during and after if your reusing. Its expensive and not very smart when all the people here are helping you to build a soil that is full of life. no need in a test of any kind. Just experience.

Last time i used a lab it cost me almost 80 bucks for 3 samples. (1 single test required 3 samples) I got a lot more info then you really need to grow good but it was a nice test. It included organic matter and bacteria. (the bacteria was altered by the mail) Long story short , it cost 80 bucks...

Were talking about growing in containers. Your not going to get much info for 10 bucks. You would need to test every time you amend. Ect...
