Growing outside and temps and humidity has pretty high lately, but with that said I get

First time with monster cropped clones here. On normal plants I top and fim to encourage side branching. Oueston is, on these with an alternating inter-nodal pattern, how do I achieve the same effect as on my "normal" plants?
Where I'm from in Maine it's really tough to get any strain to finish well completely outdoor, so I always flower inside.
When my only option was completly outdoor I always went with a hardy indica.
I'm flowering some males for seed production and have one plant that is starting to show what looks like single pistils growing on some of the pollen sacs

Have you always done the "wick up" watering method? A friend tried that and had a minor root rot issue. It does look like you need a bit more Mg as well.
