DIY Passive cooling with PIN Heatsinks SST120 and SST140

No resources here, but I've been trying to keep my environment within the 'acceptable' range of VPD, while simultaneously trying to keep leaf temps high enough to actually photosynthesize under high PPFD conditions and high CO2 levels. The closer all the parameters are to 'ideal' the plants seem...

Let's try this again - 2x2 VERO 18 Tent Grow

Wood is insulating and won't be conducting much heat away from those drivers. I would mount them on aluminum in an open area or at least mount them in an area with decent air movement. So this doesn't happen...

    New Spectrum King SK600

Well guys, they are at it again and this time claiming to be "The Most Powerful Grow Light "In The World". https://www.spectrumkingled.com/product/spectrum-king-600-led-grow-light/ While that claim is still TBD, the lower profile of the fixture looks to be almost half the height of the older...

    Light Intensity; LED vs HID

So... hearsay of what somebody else on the Internet says holds more merit than you measuring something with a meter??o_O Mind = Blown If you would do this simple task, you would have answered your own questions. I give you this to read over in the mean time...

    Light Intensity; LED vs HID

If you want 'light density' or irradiance that exceeds that of 1000w DE, then cram all those COB's as close as you can together. Grab your PAR/LUX meter and report back. Let us know how even the footprint is.

    Light Intensity; LED vs HID

Just referencing how light works, regardless of the source. I'm hopeful that if people actual read through those links, then we can put this "debate" about 'light intensity vs source' to rest. Because, in fact, there is nothing to "debate". Not referencing light and plants at all. Just light...

    Light Intensity; LED vs HID

This thread is painful to read. How many times can we go around and around in circles saying the same shit?!? You either get it or you don't. Light is Light. If you don't understand that, I would suggest a wikipedia search. Read through the following links. If you still have questions, then...

    COBs distance from canopy

Quite a few grows and many different strains. Im about to finish up my second grow under the LED's with 5 different strains. ALL my plants were stressing when the intensity was higher. I experience the same thing under my HPS. The plants directly under the bulb are always a little more stressed...

    COBs distance from canopy

Haha sorry, I'm closer to Boulder. :-) The spacing on my flower fixture is 11.5" on center. Too close together for 1.4A and limited heighth. I'd have been better off running them at 1.05A and been able to dim them more from that current.

    COBs distance from canopy

This is a tough question to answer, because most setup's will be a little different. Depending on the number of chips, the spacing between chips, drive current of the chips, and whether optics are used or not will all play a role in keeping the proper distance from the canopy. I know most...
