    Think ive been led astray

If the light can produce 1+ GPW of high quality herb, then what is everybody's problem with the product itself? Can anybody please name an LED light on the market that can put out similar numbers for a similar wattage consumption? I really am curious as to what the better options are.

Oh, you mean the reflectors that were catching on fire... Yes, that is a better option indeed. https://www.facebook.com/growliteinc/photos/pcb.1001071703256663/1001069846590182/?type=3&theater Also those reflectors are clearly only covering a 3x3. Neat design though. Similar to the LEC and...

Not sure which growers house review you were looking at, but this is the growers house review that I found using pretty standard equipment. This test was done @ 24".

    Think ive been led astray

Let me know when I can buy your product from a store, and hang it in a commercial grow legally... If you want to compare apples to apples. Then we'll talk. Maybe this light isn't for the at home hobbyist. I would be interested to see the results with a 120 degree reflector on the unit. So...

People are raving about the LEC 315's and that is 40+ year old technology that has been refined into something "brand new and totally changing the game!" The SK wipes the floor with the LEC and it comes in a box with a warranty. I know its not DIY, but what is your deal with their product? If...

Compared to this light which uses more than double the wattage... AVERAGE PPF @ 36" - 364.39 @ 30" - 455.81 @ 24" - 590.15 Seems the Spectrum King (@ 30") can almost perform as well as a traditional 1000w fixture @ 36" with an exceedingly better spectrum and 40-45% of the energy. Is it a...

    Think ive been led astray

This time the sensor was pointed straight up. I did the same measurement distances that the Grower's House review took and an additional test at 22" for curiosity's sake. I used a level and (x4) adjustable ratchet hangers to try and get the light as plum and level as I possibly could.

Nope, not at all. All the readings in the video are pretty much inline with what I've experience personally, using the same meter.

    Think ive been led astray

Sorry Bob. I only have access to what I have. I know @robinccn has been doing some research on optic performance of lens/reflectors compared to bare COB. I know during my research, the amount of usable PAR increased substantially when reflectors were used. I'm not sure about lenses as I haven't...

    Average PPF over 4x4 AC/DE 1000w (1150w draw) @ 36" - 564.06 @ 30" - 696.75 @ 24" - 918.87 My "DIY" Lamp (950w draw) @ 36" - 539.72 @ 24" - 710.19 @ 18" - 807.06 As I stated before, 24" is an extremely unrealistic distance to canopy for the DE fixture. Also, I don't care...

Plants would fry @ 24" below that light. I have seen one of those AC/DE fixtures in person and they are hotter than shit. The reason they recommend 36"- 48" distance is for canopy temp control. I'm limited to 7' ceilings so this light would not be an option for me or most people that don't have...

That wattage draw is for the whole lamp, COB's and fans. Reading were taken using a Kill-a-watt meter. I could save 20 watts if I turned my fans down to 11.2V but I like them running at full rpm. Yes, if CXB3590's were used, I could have probably accomplished the same footprint with the same...

Thank you very much. The reflectors are made by Ledil and are called Angelina-XW 90 degree. I picked them up at Mouser for about $10 a pop. http://www.mouser.com/ProductDetail/Ledil/F13838_ANGELINA-XW/?qs=sGAEpiMZZMt82OzCyDsLFOPuE06SNYbxdJgYPnMRCZ8%3d You will also need the Base Plate. It was my pleasure. I've been a geek about light since before I started growing. It seems like 22" would be the ideal coverage and intensity before the light starts to drop off on the perimeter of the 4x4. I will do some more testing tomorrow when I get the time in the "traditional" method of...

    Think ive been led astray

If you as a person are looking directly at the sun, it's pretty bright right? If you angle your eyes 90 degrees perpendicular to the sun, then there is much less light entering your eyes and it's not as bright. That doesn't negate the fact that extreme intensity is still there. You just aren't...

That's because those readings are more accurate. All my plants in my garden, inside and out, reach and look towards the light. They are not fixed to looking straight up, why should the sensor?
