    Charging Bio-Char...

Personally I'd add some nutrients to the soak. I like the chicken shit idea. Maybe some kelp and alfalfa. I've heard of people letting it sit for months on end, but around two weeks is generally what I hear people doing. There is a lot of information about biochar on the web. It's something...

You can mist the soil with neem oil, but I wouldn't recommend drenching with the solution. From what I have read, DE only works as a pest deterrent when it is dry. As stow said, add neem meal to the soil, even top dressing with it. Then spray the foliage with neem oil. I've never covered my pots...

Organic Growing Made Easy & Fox Farms Ocean Forest!

Mmmm Mmmm... Feather meal and blood meal, gotta love the slaughter house byproducts! So are those organic birds and cows? I bet not. How about cutting a cow open and let them bleed on your soil? I mean fresh is better right? Subtool should not be allowed to tell people how to grow. I mean...

Odd. If I get a chance, I'll try and ask Coot. I have no idea why kelp meal would say that. AFAIK it is only dried and ground. P-

    Chamomile and marijuana!!

Hi GC! I have only added it as mulch to the top of the soil, and a long time ago I made an FPE. I would also throw it in the worm bin and let them work it over! P-

Why is it bad to use alfalfa in tea during late flower?

If you can find the quote you should post it up. Sometimes it's difficult to paraphrase Coot and/or the posts can be severely outdated.Especially from IC mag. He hasn't posted on that site in over 2 years. P-

Why is it bad to use alfalfa in tea during late flower?

I'll assume it was the ROLS/notill thread. Without seeing what he wrote it's hard to say, but I'm going to guess he was talking about vegetative growth, and not stretch. He has posted many times to use alfalfa to reduce stretching. P-

Why is it bad to use alfalfa in tea during late flower?

I'm pretty sure he said to use Alfalfa during the first few weeks of flower to reduce internodel stretch. Personally I wouldn't have any issue using an alfalfa tea later on in flower if they were running out of steam. Probably not my first line of attack, but I wouldn't say it can't be done. P-

I'd give the cascadian a mediocre score. Smoke was decent, you could tell there were some good genetics in there somewhere. However, really slow vigor, and I mean really slow. Decent chunky buds, but both of the two plants I had threw a few nanners. On the Zazen, I popped three beans and they...

I'm not 100% sure, but if I was a gambling man, I'd say the stuff you use in your garden (especially Ahimsa) would be fine to use. I have also used and seen recipes for neem oil soap and it's really nice stuff. You can buy the soap at neem resource among other places. P-

Thought some might find this interesting: Neem Oil Neem oil is pressed from the seeds of the neem tree. It is perhaps the most important of the commercially available products of neem. We source our neem oil from India where the trees grow in their native conditions. Our neem oil is...

Larger scale organic growers opinions and advice.

This is what I have done. Not saying right or wrong. When I was breaking up my soil and reusing, I would leave the majority of the roots in the soil. Maybe if there was a big glob I might pull it out, but basically the decomposing roots will be food for the microbes. One thing you do not want to...

Sprouted Seed Tea v2.0 Jon Stika of Brew Your Own Magazine describes malt as “barley that has been sprouted to the point where enzymes are produced that will convert its starchy interior to sugar.” After the grain has been malted, the sugar is fermented by yeast to make beer. This is an...

Larger scale organic growers opinions and advice.

I plant straight into my Coot's mix with no issues. Organic is too expensive? I get so sick of this topic. Source your ingredients responsibly, get your hands dirty, and organics is cheap. I have 500 gallons in a town home. If you're going to do a large scale organic grow, you're going to need...
