I never had much luck with rockwool so i'm not the guy to ask. In my experience it doesn't like getting too dry or too wet. I use collars and hydroton and keep the water an inch below.

Yes you can. However i would suggest just one plant per netpot. Look into mainlining, you'll get a similar effect as 2 or 4 plants.

If you have a clump of dead organics (roots) at the bottom of your hydroton you're asking for many problems the whole way thru. You waited too long to transplant.
