I think you're supposed to roll the cigar with "fresh" leaves. Maybe not right off the branch but before they get too brittle, you know? Either way when I get around to doing this I'll be sure to post a writeup about it.

CFLs don't need external ballasts; they are self-ballasted. Sound like you may have a bad bulb. What light did you have in the socket before? Make sure that the fixture still works before you assume it's the light. hope that helps

I'm not big into leds. I've seen a few grows with them and they all had less than stellar results plus cfls are going to be the cheapest/simplest setup for my box.

lol yeah we call it a bonfire. It happens more when you pack your bowl kinda loose and with bigger chunks. Next time let it burn for about 3 secs then try to suck the fire in.
