    120/240V circuit breakers...

But interestingly that 20 amp breaker outlet is right behind the washer/dryer but it isn't being used...the washer/dryer looks like they are plugged in a 15 amp outlet...

    120/240V circuit breakers...

My dryer runs off of nat gas so I don't think it runs on a 30amp anymore, we redid the house a couple years ago and they removed that plug.

    120/240V circuit breakers...

So when you guys install a 30 amp outlet, are you guys just using one of those cords/adapters that convert the 30amp plug to a 15 amp plug for the ballast? sorry for so many questions, I believe electrical safety takes precedent to everything else...won't have a grow if the place burns down...

    120/240V circuit breakers...

Also, I would like to confirm...the 20 amp breaker in the subpanel is running 240V correct?

    120/240V circuit breakers...

Oh there already are, there is about 4 outlets per 15 amp breaker...when I say the 20 amp plug is too far away I am only talking about 10 feet too far...

    120/240V circuit breakers...

All of those have faded writing on the labels, I believe they are all in use somehow...I also wouldn't have any idea as to how to run the wire to the subpanel.

    120/240V circuit breakers...

Now the 20 amp breaker is not in use at all...I could easily get 2 750 watt lights off of that plug...any input on the use of extension cords on that 20 amp outlet? The plug itself is too far away and I would need to use an extension cord as well as find a way to run 2 outlets on the cord for...

    120/240V circuit breakers...

    If my calculations are correct, a 750 watt lamp @ 120V = 6.25 amps...lets say I run off the 15 amps *80% = 12amps...so I really should only use 1 750 watt light per breaker.

    120/240V circuit breakers...

Basically I am just trying to figure out what outlets go to what and what I can safely load on the breakers...eventually I would like to be up to 3 750 watt HPS, 1 400 watt HPS, and a couple floros for a SOG. I am really tempted to just hire an electrician because I know nothing about...

Now I also have this subpanel...I believe the 20 amp is for the dryer

    120/240V circuit breakers...

Another thing, the main breaker says it's 200 amps but I count way more than that in the amount of breakers...any ideas?

    120/240V circuit breakers...

OK I see, now I do have some 20 and 30 amp breakers that have 2 handles or whatever connected...I guess its called "2" poles...those would draw at 240V then?

    120/240V circuit breakers...

Yeah I understand it is relative to what is being utilized, but I am trying to figure out if the breaker will utilize 240V since it is a 120/240V breaker.

    120/240V circuit breakers...

I have been reading thru various electricity related threads and it seems people either have 120V OR 240V breakers...My home is mostly 15 amp 120/240V breakers, which allows any voltage between 120 and 240V from what I have read. If I were to use a ballast that is 120/240V, does that mean I...

Well there is another reason too...significant other doesn't want ANY hydro, only soil...actually that's the main reason. Shes doesn't understand and refuses to even learn about hydro. I just didn't want to cop to it earlier =)

Gavita 1000's with 8 foot ceilings...

Yeah, I was being lazy when I asked the previous question, found the answer with a simple search :P You know, since I haven't grown in a while I think it may be best for me to start off smaller than my original plan for the first run...I would hate to buy/do all that work just to face a bunch...

Gavita 1000's with 8 foot ceilings...

I actually would use RO water, I use RO water anyways for my drinking water. I have done 2 grows...one about 15 years ago and one about 2 years ago...the one 15 years ago was when OG was still around and it was a DWC and the most recent one was a soil. Honestly both were half-assed...I had too...
