    Red purple leaf stems

    So far the plant has been growing great and looks excellent but i stilll think it could be doing better. I haven't seen much of a slowed growth but the older larger leaves (not many only about 4-5) turned yellow from the leaf tips inward until they were instantly white and then started to die in...

    V shape leafs ???

    IS there any other reason to have V shaped leaves other then a deficiency? I appologize is this is thread jacking but.. I think i corrected my hard water/high iron problem but my V shaped leaves still refuse to flatten out. I tried the epsom salt just hours ago with one plant at 1tsp/gal and i...

    Too much iron my plants are drooping.

    OK so plants are back to normal almost i have been letting the water settle for about 24 hours and then pumping the top 4 gallons out of a 5 gallon container. WEll i was looking at a softner estimate from my neighbor he just had done and they tested our water at 6.9PH and they marked 3.8 for...

    V shape leafs ???

    My leaves are doing the same thing. Except after a it gets worse they will stiffen and wilt starting from the top down. This is the problem i have, if you got the same symptoms then it might be hard water. My water is high in iron and i am now just learning to treat my water correctly before...

    Too much iron my plants are drooping.

    So far the growth tips on the top looks shitty and droopy with small leaves slowly growing out the growth shoots on the top of my plants, but the lower branches seem to be coming back and looking more healthy. I sure hope they come back soon. Is there anything i can do or add to my water to...

    Too much iron my plants are drooping.

    Interesting. I had a lot of duckweed growing in a large pond at my last place. I used the water then and had no problems. However i hear that duckweed naturally occurs when the ducks shit in the water adding nitrogen to it making it rich in nutrients. I never thought the duckweed was there...

    Too much iron my plants are drooping.

    I was also reading that the softeners need to be rejuvenated with acid because they build up iron in the system. I think this might need to be done. I need to see if the softener is capable of rejuvenation first. I am also thinking about getting some air stones and filling a kiddy pool...

    Too much iron my plants are drooping.

    yes I am using the basic 5 gallon clear plastic drinking water bottles and the cap is off and 24 hours is pretty much a minimum. I am reading a little about it now and i think that by oxygenating that water with a air stone or something it might help bring the levels of iron down. But i can't...

    Too much iron my plants are drooping.

    So i have come to conclude that the water from our well has way too much iron. I have been warned by the home owner when i moved in. I think it is about 200ppm iron in my water and we have no holding tank. We use a water softner but when the salt gets low it causes my plants to droop and...

    V shaped leaves and wilting with lots of water

    So they are starting to perk back up! If i had to guess i think the flushing helped. I could tell a difference between the color of the water draining before i flushed and after i was done. It was coming out the bottom pretty dark brown like tea and then lightened up to almost clear when i...

    V shaped leaves and wilting with lots of water

    well maybe i should have said sufficient water instead of lots. It is good soil mostly foxfarm and happy frog mix, good drainage, i usually let them have 12-24 hours of dry soil on the top 3 inches before watering. Also i am using a water softner to combat high levels of iron, but i have...

    V shaped leaves and wilting with lots of water

    So i have 5 outdoor plants all the same seed, 2 are wilting pretty hard even though there is plenty of water. All of them have slightly V shaped fingers on their leaves then bend inward and up. Could this be the strain? I have others that are nice and traditionally flat? They used to perk up...

    plants wilting with lots of water

    So i have 5 starts outdoors all from the same seed and mother plant. 2 are wilting pretty hard with their leaves touching the soil the others are looking pretty damn good. We call it sleeping because they used to perk up a little more in the day and wilt hard at night. The leaves are stiff...

    using foxfarm organic soil indoors

    Thanks everyone, thats what i thought. I am all about the fox farm and it kills me not to use it on my plants really. Thanks for the feed back, and keep it coming, i am curious to see if anyone out there blames their bug problems on their soil. However, I have heard not to use chicken shit in...

    using foxfarm organic soil indoors

    My friend is just buying supersoil and amending it for our indoor setup because he thinks the organic additives in foxfarm will encourage disease and attract bugs. Is this true? Does anyone use foxfarm indoors?

    FMG Art

    I can't believe you haven't used it yet! I would not be able to hold out that long. I would just clean it with alcohol and rock salt, or regular salt. Once its almost perfectly clean you could run it through your dish washer, and that should clean it out extra good. This is what i ask people...

    FMG Art

    Wow nice pictures. I am glad you like it. The green I used is actually exotic wich turns a little redish brown when the lines are stretched out and the purple is in there but it got stretched a little too, so it unfortunately was not that noticeable. I maybe should have done more colorful...

    Big 200 gallon grow bags. Or 120?

    Well I now have full southern exposure so i plan on taking advantage of it. I want bags to keep the roots out of my high iron red soil. Also to avoid soil sample analysis testing; PH adjusting; etc. etc.... And I would be more then happy to get 5-6 lbs. I was just joking with the 12lbs thing.
