I've used Viparspectra, Optic LED and Spectrum King, and they all worked fine. I'd take any of them over an HPS.

You can clone in a separate area, so you never have to use time under your main flowering light for vegging. You can also get way more consistency. It’s hard to ever really ‘dial in’ a strain when growing from seed. Not to mention the constant need to procure more seeds.

You can clone photos though. Then you can pretty much flower all the time

Typically, anyone who makes blanket statements is arguing from weak logical footing. Autos aren’t for me, but I’ve grown them indoors and they came out pretty good.

How big of a space? There’s a big difference between a 3x3 and a 4x4

If it’s your first grow, don’t worry about pruning. Just roll with it to get a baseline reading of how a plant grows. Once you get the basics down, then start experimenting (I put a thumbs up emoji at the end but I guess that doesn’t work in here, lol)

I used it start to finish on that grow, I currently have the optic 4 in my 3x3 and a SK400+ in my 4x4 I honestly can’t give an informed opinion on the other light. It looks really similar but I don’t know anyone personally who has used one.

Optic 4 is more than enough for a 3x3. I think it pulls ~415w from the wall. I did a grow with it on my YouTube channel and it worked fine. I vegged too long in my 3x3 and had to move it to the 4x4 but the light still did good. I didn’t push them to the walls of the 4x4

DIY cobs or China blurple are cheapest If you want a retail light, I’d be looking at Spectrum King, Optic LED or HLG, myself.

Depends on what you want to do You can do organic on the cheap with bone/blood meal and other soil amendments

Ok. I still wouldn’t buy a DIY light. I don’t even grow with a Mars. I’m just saying they can grow good weed.

I know people IRL who have grown good weed with mars lights Never seen a DIY light in person. The vast majority of people just want to click ‘buy it now’ on Amazon, and a Mars (or other cheap blurple) light will grow decent bud. I’m not sure how big the market is for people wanting to pay more...

No prob! Buds can do it too. People will see a bud oozing amber juice and think it’s oil you can dab, but it’s really just water and sugars

They’re not trichomes. It’s called guttation and it’s mostly water.

I tried an Optic 4 on my last run and it worked great. I think I’m going back to the SK400+ next time though, I just like the coverage and dimmability. Someone above was posting about the Viparspectra 600w reflector series - I have one of those as a backup. Only ever flowered a Cookies bagseed...

This forum is nothing but FUD when it comes to LEDs I’ve grown good bud under all kinds of them, Spectrum King, Optic LED and even a cheapo Viparspectra. You get what you pay for but you can grow some good bud with any of them if you know what you’re doing. More $ gets you more coverage and...
