7/4/10 floranova grow I gave them a half gallon then the next day I gave them another gallon about 560 ppm and I just recently found that I’m supposed to add cal/mag first before mixing nutrients not sure how that would effect the plants

To much water, and improper mixing of the chemicals.
Id get a cheap Moisture/Light/PH meter from Lowes/Walmart. Also learn to gauge by picking the container up, and learning to judge if its light, or heavy by feel. I do both. I check to see if light by hand first, and then with the meter. Meter takes all guessing out of the equation.
NEVER EVER let them get to the point of wilting. On the Meter, Never Let the Needle get To Low Moist Line. Always a hair above.
If plants get to dry and wilt, that means the dissolved solids in the container have concentrated, and risk burning the plant when rehydrated. Add in a feeding at that time, and he have a double muck up.
My general rule of thumb for Medium Amount/Container Size vs how much water is 20% is the max I would water.
1 gallon of soil gets a max of 25.6oz of water. 5 gallons container gets one gallon.
20 gallon container gets 4 gallons.
These are also MAXIMUM amounts for plants that would have a rootball pushing the limits of the container, and under strong light.
