10 Plant Micro Grow 12/12 From Seed (150w HPS)

Plants:
1 DNA Fem Sour Kush- Day 18
1 Dinafem Fem Cali Hash Plant- Day 13
5 Nirvana Aurora Indicas- Day 12
1 Serious Seeds Fem Chronic- Day 8
2 Nirvana Aurora Indicas- Day 6

The sour kush has begun flowering but overall i'm hugely disappointed with the grow:wall: the cali hash plant is only on it's second leaf set and just looks sooo stupid and sickly for it's age. certain AI's look promising however 1/2 will be male anyways so im bummed about that because some look terrible. the chronic stretched way to much and is a mutant and like is pretty much in the same boat as cali hash plant. the other AI's are too young to be judged but for now its just the sour kush for the winnnnnnn

just ph'd after watering, runnin at 7.0 on the dot. will probably lower it still with next feeding and shoot for like 6.5-6.8. Lowered the entire tray to the floor as the sour kush needs the space and most all plants are on their 2nd leaf set. I moved the youngest two to the center along with the sour kush in hopes of controlling potential stretching that way. Will probably start UVB treatments in a week or two and move the youngest of the pack to the opposite corner so they aren't stressed.

will update fa sho next feeding with a lot of pics

Nutes
Ok just fed the Aurora Indica gang with:
1 1/2 tsp. of pure blend grow pro at 6.8pH
and the sour kush with:
1/2 tsp of floranova bloom + 1/4 tsp of pure blend grow pro at 6.6pH

Temps ect
I sit at 80-85F pretty much all day
Humidity sits at 16% normally but can fluctuate to 25% after watering

Planting Tip 1
When you first plant seed leave a about 1 inch to 1-1/2 inch space.
Then after the plan is about a inch taller then the cup back fill with soil.
This helps with stretching that will happen on all 12/12 grows. If and when you transplant to 1 gallon pot you can then also bury down as much as you can.

lesson learned

Things are moving along here I see, keep up the good work Kap10

Will you be upcanning to one gallon pots for this grow?

hey xebeche, i dont think i will just because i was looking over at randy rockets 12/12 from seed thread and there is quite a substantial difference in height between the ones he kept in 16oz cups and those he put in 1 gal. pots. I just don't think i would have enough vertical space to accommodate the larger pot and the resulting larger plant

Yeah, I kinda thought as much. I'm in a similar situation, but I have a little more headroom than you do so I'm trying out the one-gal nursery pots on my next grow-round. Hoping they don't stretch much though since they're already pretty close to the lights, I could be in trouble, lol, well see. I used those 5.5" square pots last time and they worked pretty well...plants still got to be about two feet tall, but I vegged them for several weeks before 12/12, so I think you should be okay with them. Someday I'll try a SOG with party cups only, I've seen some impressive buds grown in them here on RIU. I do like the idea of 12/12 right from the start, but I would probably try it with clones as soon as they're rooted, rather than with seeds, since I would want to do a lot of plants at one time but I don't want to buy a lot of seeds.

Plants
1 DNA Fem Sour Kush- Starting to throw out alot of pistils i think it's only going to gain two more full leaf sets so i only imagine it getting a little taller. Really beautiful plant as far as structure, has a little nitrogen deficiency goin on but i fed it today so it should be fine. Smell thus far is oddly sweet kind of like root beer.

1 Dinafem Fem Cali Hash Plant- Pretty shrimpy plant but hopefully it fills out a little more this week. I saw some pistils had started so i assume it's been flowering for around four days but def the smallest of the pack in proportion to it's age

5 Nirvana Aurora Indicas- The biggest one turned out male but im not that bummed cuz it was almost the size of my SK with only like 3 leaf sets but yea you can see the pollen preflowers in the pictures. Other than that i'm pretty pysched about the other 4, some are pretty big and healthy with only one runt-ish plant to speak of which could still easily turn it around. I'm hoping these sex by the end of this week so i can start figuring out the numbers better and get new seedlings in there.

1 Serious Seeds Fem Chronic- Really happy about this plant because i thought it was guna be a huge bust and it really looks healthy now. Excited to see the good genetics shine when it starts flowering

2 Nirvana Aurora Indicas- My other little ones are healthy but there seems to be one mutant (PIC EIGHT) cuz it's leafs are oddly curled, the plant is small, and on one leaf set it just never grew parts of the leaves but if i've learned anything thus far it's not to doubt these plants and just see how it goes so i'll roll with it

Nutes
Just fed every plant with 1 tbs of pure blend pro grow, thats the mid-sized vegetative suggestion on the bottle but i did this for a number of reasons. Although almost all plants are at different stages in growth and similar feeding seems therefore counter-intuitive I #1 believe the 2 little ones can handle the dose and want to give them a nice amount of nutes to establish good lower growth #2 wanted to up the dosage for the ones that need it (the main AIs, Chron, and Hash) and #3 saw that the lower foliage on the SK has yellowing out so although it is in flowering i felt a nitrogen dose was needed and that the 3-2-4 formula of the pbpg is not restricting the plants flowering needs.
The feed was ph'd at 6.8
And for clarification my pots are 25.5fl oz so they just a bit bigger than 16fl oz party cups

Observations (all based on my experiences in this grow)
So for people looking at this thread to compare their own plants here are some things i've noticed.
-Flowering can usually be identified on days 20-25 for females however the pistils will most likely be on the second newest leaf set and not at the apex of growth (the very top)
-Inter-nodal growth can and usually has happened before the plant sexes
-Stretching is going to happen on a larger scale than you would think when the plant is a seedling because of the 12 hours of darkness it receives even as a seedling which is unnatural for the plant seeing as in nature the seed would germinate in the ground during a vegetative time of outdoor weather
-Little pots= more frequent watering which may lead to staggered watering so be prepared to have nutrient rich AND pure water both ready at watering time

Ahhh, flowers...this is when things start to get interesting :hump:

Looks like your steering this ship in the right direction Kap10, keep it up. That SK looks promising.

just did a watering, saw about 3 confirmed females or so:-o but no sign of balls to speak of i keep procrastinating starting a new seed but i'll do it this weekend when i do another pic update

1 DNA Fem Sour Kush- F
1 Dinafem Fem Cali Hash Plant- F
4 Nirvana Aurora Indicas- 2F 2M (Killed one male already)
1 Serious Seeds Fem Chronic- F
2 Nirvana Aurora Indicas- 2?
So five females thus far and three males, one of the AIs is a close call but i will update if the count changes or i end up wrong but the only unsexed plants remain the two younger AIs.

Plants
1 DNA Fem Sour Kush- still trying to dial in the food for this one, it remains hungry but i don't want to burn it because regardless of it's age its still a miniature sized plant

1 Dinafem Fem Cali Hash Plant- Still pretty small but looking nice

4 Nirvana Aurora Indicas- So down to four, and looking all female so i'm happy about the ratio thus far. Some are a tad hungry looking but all are looking healthy.

1 Serious Seeds Fem Chronic- Has begun to flower and looking promising

2 Nirvana Aurora Indicas- Both pretty close to flowering but they are fairing pretty well as space is becoming cramped

Nutes
Just fed every plant with 1 tbs of pure blend pro grow but i think i'm going to change some things. Number one is i think i'm going to start feeding with every watering because i think the roots just require constant nutrients as the soil they occupy is not in a large volume and therefore cannot hold alot of reserve nutrients. I will probably keep upping the dose until i think that the smaller two cannot tolerate it then make two distinct mixes from here on out. The runoff was at 6.7pH.

Observations (all based on my experiences in this grow)
The first thing i noticed today was that although my soil mix hasn't been giving me any problems, it's been deceiving. With the MG organic claiming it fed nitrogen to the plant for like 2 months i was wary about feeding, however it has become the opposite situation with the plants showing N deficiency almost across the board. The second thing i noted was the lack of impact from the UVB bulb thus far. I have yet to see any trich production from the SK at all although pistils are numerous, it is still early but i was hoping to see at least some sugar at this stage.
