Building a rubbermaid grow space.. Gettin some 65 watt flouros.. Gonna keep doing 12/12 from seed.. Also I'm going to keep the current grow.. but I'm going to be doing 5 or 6 plants in the rubbermaid.. Goin out later tonight to get all the necessary hardware.. Wasnt able to do the pc fan ventilation on my current grow, so I'm going to do it with the rubbermaid..

I need to know how to raise the humidity in my grow space... My girlfriend suggested a bowl of water.. LOL, i dunno how well that would work.. So any ideas would be appreciated..

Your "girlfriend" is actually smart.. not sure what you thought about her suggestion... but she's actually right. That's one method that would work.. I might even place a heating pad underneath the bowl of water (to help evaporate the water). Not sure why you laughed at her..

anyhow.. yes, that method will def. help raise the humidity level. What's your humidity percentage level does your grow-room usually hover around?

During veg. cycles.. it's nothing to really worry about. You actually should benefit from having higher humidity levels during the veg. cycle. Don't want it too high of course.. but you want it higher during veg than you want it during flowering.

flowering phases (I personally) like to try and get the humidity as low as possible. My grow room stays at 48% during flowering and 70% during my veg.

Too much humidity.. can cause rotting; molds; fungi; etc.. as well as bud rot. That's why it's best to have as little humidity as possible for flowering.

peace.

So do I even have to have high humidity or any at all? Cause it goes from 27% to 64% the way it is, thats cool right?

I just got three 42 watt cfls, just like the two I already have.. Going to be running them in another part of the computer desk I'm using.. My friend has seeds from a strain called ICE, its purple bud.. I'm gonna be doing a 12/12 from seed party cup grow.. Dunno how many plants I will grow though... I plan to go 12/12 from seed all the time, due to limited space..

I decided to scrap the idea of a separate grow area, and just added the lights to my current grow area.. FOR A GRAND TOTAL OF 262 WATTS!!! Not just for one plant though, cause as soon as these other seeds germinate, I'm doin 4 party cups right next to my already growing plant..

Which leads me to another question.. ITS HOT AS FUCK!!! Can you buy really small ACs? Or fans with some sort of liquid cooling?? Cause I gotta get these temps down.. I'm very worried.. Help me out please.. +Rep for anyone!!!

Pic of the new light setup, and my plant.. Added some dirt to the pot since it had settled the last few weeks.. Check it out..

yes you can do something about it. poke 2 holes on top of the cfl's and put 2 PC fans to exhaust the hot air from the cfl's. poke 2 holes on the bottom or one on each side's and add 2 PC fans to intake fresh air, and you're done .

Peace!

You know, its kinda hard to just poke holes in maple.. Anyways.. Since my room is sealed off from the light of other rooms or the outside, I decided to just open the door.. Lets a lot of light out for sure, but lowered the temps from 108 (which yes, it was 108 today..) to 95 when I just left to post this..

I have another question.. Is it okay to just use CFLs in open space? Instead of in a cabinet, or box.. Just staple up some mylar or whatever white material kinda like the curtains in hospital rooms? Hang a light from the ceiling and arrange your plants on the floor..? with CFLs of course, can you do that..??

I'd say within 2 weeks max. Also, If your meaning like a grow tent. Not needing walls just hanging it up but still no leaks It'l be sweet. If you mean in a open space with some mylar then your still going to lose alot of lumens.

Heres what i have done with my cab to reduce the heat ..you will notice the exuast pipe going to the roof it is connected into a plant holder inside the plant holder i have a normal fan blowing air thru the pipe this fan is 15cm in diameter and has 2 settings high and low my temps were at 97f and after connecting this exaust it remains constant at 74-82f i recommend u do this to reduce the heat .
