Hey there neighbor. Thanks for your time in writing this advice. I would give it a try, but Im nearing end of my flower phase and at this stage I don’t see any more mold, Ive got it under control. The molded buds I pruned off, last week and week before. Adding a circulation fan seemed to have reduced RH. I dont see any more molded buds on the infected plant, and the plant next to it is fine (visually). I’ll be hanging the plants soon, as Im in middle of a water flush before I cut and start dry this week.

Ive got to admit, I underestimated the importance of airflow (thought the exhaust fan and open port was all I needed; seemed to work in veg) and need for humidity control (def invest in a dehumidifier).

Alright for sure. I would recommend a wet trim since leaves hold onto humidity and you don't want that mold to resurface. Good luck!!
 
I see you got gnats. That sucks, I got them too. I see less numbers lately after few weeks mosquito bitz but tedious so I just now added the microbelift bmc.

People say it works but damn I guess it comes growing. People say it out right doesnt work too.

Anyway I got mold real bad whole plant tossed before. Overcrowded 2x2 and rh spikes one too many times being irresponsible with dehuey.

It was like my first few grows too but never seen it since. Not over crowding and keeping dehuey on solved that. Ive been pushing it too and still good.

Im working on cleaner canopies now and not yielding as much as possible. Just open up couple more tents.

I dont use canopy fans just negative air pressure. IME I had the grow room negative air pressure venting outside and didnt have rh and temp pockets.

It messed with home ac so I dissconnected for summers. I still use it during harvest for odor, limits it to the grow room.

Anyway, now woth positive air pressure I have rh and temperture pockets solved by a pedestal fan. Like you would in the canopy.

So it works but with tents negative air pressure and not overcrowded or at least extremely, I dont have those issues. No clip fans just inline exaust and filter.

Just my thoughts, hope that doesnt discourage and gives you hope. There are other things to worry about though.

Theres mold you cant see or smell that youd only know if you grew it. By seeing/discarding that suspect growth that died in one light cycle and continueing.

I lost half a plant to it for best practices. Was told to by a super experienced grower. Your tent is very underfilled the rh must of got real high and that port ordeal too.

I open all vents cut the screens out and flaps if attatched. Bugs get in but theyll find there way IMO. Exaust on max.

Good luck! Glad you got to harvest something! These tips should do you good its nothing I fear its the easiest mold to avoid. I fear PM, others I cant pronounce.

Edit I do avoid donkey D’s of genetics. I grow medium or small flowers per node it helps in a emergancy or in general.
 
Blew over $100 in clip fans for nothing. Blow some ecig or weed or dab vapor into the tent, the air is moving enough as is. People tried telling me that. It just wind burns the plants but thats just my experience.
 
Only thing I can think that forgot to add is plant health being at its best is another defense. Ive had some raggly looking plants still fine though with deficiencies etc.

Not letting rh pass 65 and the risk escalates with each 5%rh passing that. Id get a hygrometer, can never have enough of those for various uses. Check the highs and lows.

I dont use a automated system like ac infinity with climate control but thats even better.

I find there is always air movement outside. I use clip fans inside and have them blow in different directions at different times. Air pulled by vent fan pulls in one directional flow the clip fans in small tent leave no dead spots.
I find automation is the way to go, the vent fan and the humidifier fight each other but that is part of game.
 
I feel ya, I want to find a reason to use them I just cant. Plus its another fire hazard point being so cheap and smoking up on people so often. Or often enough IMO.

Pointing them above and/or below canopy just cant really use them for what youd want them for. They make my lower leafs fall right off. Burn the tops.

At best it I found it useful for dispersing the radiant heat a light can produce. Even then I find just keeping the grow room cool enough is good. Like catching sunlight when its cool/breezy vs super hot.

It can make things in the air linger longer, no? Id think everything works its way to the filter like a vacuum. Just dont find them useful for PM or budrot prevention.
 
I think pockets if you had money for 5 hygro meters and put them all over tent I guess you can chase tail on the diff readings.

I say money because theyre costly. 4 of them is $100 already I think or more. Anyway, I think overcrowding is the only way to get pockets and even then.

Can pockets form in a vacuum? If the plant is well spaced I dont think its an issue. I get higher readings next to the plant thats normal. Like holding the probe of hygrometer in closed hand.

Should read 100% in seconds. So I dont count that. If so I got away with 75rh last grow just fine. The mold I suspect I got and really no one knows if it was, it doesnt grow like budrot.

Just my opinion and thought useful for OP not trying to pushback so hard sometimes I feel lile explaining away anyway.

Get those meat eater plants with sticky drops.all the adoults will stick to it.for babies masquito bits work

As for humidity i put mine in the middle where the lamp is its allways dry bottom is usually same as outside the box since fresh air is comming in middle is what you want

Let the drying begin

- Spent a good 3 hours after work sanitizing the grow room, cleaning the tent, cutting/prepping/cleaning, bathing, and hanging
- Pruning down the plants to prepare for wash
- Washing in bucket 1 H2O2+water, Bucket 2: Lemon Juice and Baking Soda, Bucket 3: Clean Water Bath
- Hanging to dry, RH was high today, opened more ports in tent; took the grow light out, got the fans on their independent timers
- Fanning rn consists of the 4in ex. fan and a clip on fan

I learned important things during my grow, which will be rectified in my next grow. They are:

Things I knew before my grow​
  • Light: 18/6 for veg and 12/12 for flower
  • LED is good light and low consumption of power
  • Fox Farm Happy Frog and O.F. – can’t go wrong with this brand for soil grow
  • Strains: Indica and Sativa Properties
  • I wanted to start a soil grow all organic.

Things I learned during the grow​
  • Epsom salts usage for treating magnesium deficiency
  • The importance of LST for increasing yield.
  • Understanding veg cycle periods
  • Learning a little more about flowering stages , trichome colors, and pistil development
  • Hydrogen peroxides usage for killing gnat eggs on topsoil
  • What, why, how, when: nutrients, feeding, and amounts
  • Gnats: How to manage and reduce infestation using various methods
  • Seven dust helps kill larvae and other aphids
  • One is required to use a circulation fan INSIDE the tent in addition to the carbon filter exhaust fan – this will literally lead to mold if you don’t use one, ruining your hard work
  • Soil amendments: worm castings, fish, blood meal, bat guano, etc, the method of making nute-tea (read on it never did it)
  • The simplicity of growing (with proper equipment and air quality)
  • K.I.S.S. – Mechanical timers, or the ones I found on Amazon suffice.
  • Keep the bucket of water outside the tent to prevent R.H. spikes and maintain a healthy environment to prevent mold growth

  • Things I will do differently on my next grow
  • Dehumidifier added to grow tent
  • Use my circulation fan throughout the entire grow
  • Spray topsoil with H2O2 and water mix to kill any larvae of gnats early on
  • Low Stress Training from the early veg cycle

Hi everyone, been a while. Decided I post to update on quality, curing, and smoke review.

I had a four jar yield, each jar is 20 oz. I burp 1x/week and keep in a dark cool closet free from humidity. With fall season, it’s way less humid and dry.

I am an Indica dominant strain fan,

- Smoking on the OG Kush , a calming and anxiety reducing strain with earthy smells



- Blue Gelato: Similar high, great quality, anxiety reducing, strong and lovely odor




Curing in jars with no mold at all

I burp once a week.
 
Ive learned a thing or two myself this grow lol. I tried to fight botritus but unless days from chop I now toss the whole plant unless no more spots came up. If colas are fat enough the spore will germinate and its a lost cause, systemic so it will pop up in more places. Just becomes something I dont even want anymore.

Then I got powdery mildew lol. My grow is down to say the least for a minute. Air circulation lots of it is a must. Not just a canopy fan but an actual pedestal or box fan. I decided to listen to people and toss any moldy weed. Itll be alright, Ive have plenty of runs simply if theres no mold theres no question.

Thank you. Yeah, you’re right; airflow is everything in securing the grow to the end. If you go to Walmart, they sell Turbo Fans by Honeywell. You can put it on a relay timer and have it run 30min on 30min off, or on low 24/7. It’s UL and ETL listed so it’s less of a fire hazard than any el cheapo fan. I suppose Honeywell fan bearings are also better quality but that’s me just guessing due to their certifications they have to meet to make the fan safe.

In regard to humidification, it’s very good to have a dehumidifier on a relay or thermostat. For my next grow, Im going to experiment with

- Manifolding
- Better automation and cleaner / more reliable controls
