Operation KillGnat
Gentlemen, As of Monday I declared a war on these dad gum gnats. If you’re mentioned, I’d like to thank you for your input.
Monday
- Began by adding mosquito dunk to holding tank; this is where they are laying eggs!
- Removed watering manifolds on top soil and inserted my water line deeper into soil
- Put perlite on top surface of soil
- Hung fly ribbons
- Sprayed seven dust on floor of my grow tent and top soil
- Added sticky traps inside grow tent
- Added fly trap containers inside tent
- Hung fly ribbon outside grow tent
By Thursday
- Dramatic reduction in population
- Still more gnats
- Shut off my water pump to dry top soil out a few days
Today - Saturday
- Sprayed topsoil with bti and water mix
Sunday
- Water with hydrogen peroxide
I’ve come to terms that this will be more about reduction and management than complete extermination.
Flowering Updates
It sure smells diddly doo good. Bud sites are growing, and I’m seeing a plentiful harvest ahead late August-mid-September, (hopefully). After trimming poor/dead/low hanging vines last week, the plants look even better. I’m learning that it’s about routine maintenance, and my grow has been low maintenance and easy thus far.
