12/12 temperature preferences?

As it has gotten cool here with the humidity still up above 50% it puts me in the nice position of controlling both with my setup...where usually I am just fighting with them. I also just "picked me up" that LUX plug in thermostat heat unit controller and I am just now dialing it in. Been keeping things around 73 degrees overall (have read here that 72, 75, and 77 degrees are optimal) with 50% humidity. Given that, I still wanted the girls to feel a little cool when the lights go off.

I am putting things at 68F at night and 77 when the lights are on and keeping it at 50% humidity. What would you choose?

I also have the LUX device. Am replacing it with a Sentinel CHHC-4 to also control co2 and humidity

Nice...yeah, my dehumidifier can be dialed into the % desired and I don't have co2(yet) so I am good. Just googled the Sentinel...very nice.

I'm adding a 5 gallon bottle for condensate from the dehumidifier. Without some additional drainage, it fills up and stops running.

As does mine...although it has an alarm...but I generally am dumping it before it fills. Not sure I have the option to add a bottle like that...have to check that out.

Depends on the strain, ive grown plants that thrived at 85 and others that thrived at 75. Basically its about finding what the plant likes. Most like it around 80 degrees. From my exp plants dont really care what the RH is as long as its like 20-70%, but lower RH will allow you to feed more and make a less hospitable environment for mold/fungus. If my RH is over 50 i lower it, otherwise i see no issue, this is purely to prevent budrot. I ahve also noticed no issue with my temps being 75 during the plants night and 80 during their day. Close spread doesnt bother them from my xp.

Look for a molded in male hose pipe fitting in the reservoir. You'll have to drill a hole thru it. Set the dehumidifier on a box or tote tall enough to raise the drain above your bottle and connect them with a cut down garden hose. Or use the tote for over flow to save room, but you'll want to put a pump in it. The auto shut-off won't work, so you'll have to be religious about emptying it or you'll flood the place.. I suppose if you could seal the garden hose to the bottle, the auto shut-off would still work.

I never gave two shits about any environmental conditions. Binned my thermometer after 2 weeks. Never had a humidity meter :-P plants did just great.

I like a 10-15f swing in night time temps to lights on temps. Usually mid 70s lights on low to mid 60s lights off. Humidity around 40%

You weren't running a sealed grow either. We deal with the situation we have.
And if I was I'd implement the appropriate supplemetntation and still not give a fuck. Sorry thuogh, such heretic thoughts, this is a magical plant that needs absolutely correct everything, what fool went and called it weed because its like a weed and can grow in any old conditions with great results.

Its been long proven that people go way out of line trying to obtain these magical numbers when there is no need.

Temps here are 95+, humidity is 90+. Bring that warm, moist air inside and water is dripping off the leaves. I don't like moldy pot.

A mj plant will grow in some pathetic conditions, thats not up for debate. We give our plants ideal conditions because then we get ideal results. To each his own.

We talking canopy temps under lights or room temps?

Non co2 enriched I want my canopy at 83 lights on. Co2 enriched I want 88 canopy. Heat (to a point) = increased metabolic rate IF there are no shortages of co2, h2o, feed....

My sensor is on the floor, in the shade, opposite the intake (which for most of the day was blowing in at about 50F). I will try to get a reading at the canopy level. Not many seem to talk about the canopy temps. Months back when I was trying to figure out where to place a thermometer I asked whether it should be at the canopy and I never received answer...or actually the answer I got was put it in the shade.

Canopy level and in the shade for many thermometers to get accurate reading. You have to build a shade.
