I think Procyon is pretty much your nearest competitor for the 126watt light. I'm not huge fan of UFOs and your kit looks much better built (sod all these "made in China" units). Now all I want to see an actual grow under 1x 126w penetrator light (cos that's the perfect single light for someone growing a personals stash in an average closet). The only other light I have seen that, if I had the money, I would consider is the LED Spectra Unit by Dutch Green Growlights (it looks awesome) but its much more expensive than yours and a bit more expensive than the Procyon (120Watt is 511Euros!). Your price point is v attractive... just hope once your introductory period runs out it doesn't rise too steeply. It gives you the edge and is yet another reason why I like the look of it. Now show us some more of your grow! I'm waiting to be blown away

Honestly, on a competition level there are few lights that will compete, as most all of them use 120 degree LED's. So even if they had the same spectral output, the intensity isn't there to penetrate. I would have to disagree that Procyon is a close competitor though. They definitely use High Quality LED's, but their design is 3 years ago. Companies like HIDHut, with their 6-band lights, or Theoreme Innovations, are closer competitors. I looked at the Dutch Green Lights, and I'd say they're a step behind the other two companies I just listed. I can see that they use IR from looking at the light, and they say they use UV (deepest available is 390nm which doesn't help our plants). They also mentioned it being a 5-color light, meaning 2 red, 2 blue, 1IR. Lastly they mention 3 color temperatures, which means they are using warm white, neutral white, and cool white LED's as well. Basically it seems like they just wanted to throw everything in there, so they weren't missing anything lol. The 3 different whites, are not needed in my opinion, and you're right, their price point is a bit higher than mine.
Our final price on the 126W units will reach $449.95. Growl LED sells their 120W (112pcs LED) for $475. Haight Solid State sells their 90W PPF-400 for $475. HIDHut charges $599.95 for their 90W UFO. Procyon charges $595 for 100W. And the list goes on... Our 126W units cost a lot more to make than all of the lights listed (minus maybe the Procyon). We also developed our own spectral output, intensity, board design, etc... which is different from most of these companies.

I'm not sure where this attitude comes from, but it certainly is not shared. In my experience, I yield more with LED. What I yield with LED is also higher quality and higher density. Using only 252W of LED, my friend budded a plant out to a full pound. That's about 3-4x more than what you'd get with a 250W HID. It's about equal to what most people would do with a 1000W light. Our goal was never to produce half the amount as the HID equivalent of my light, it was to beat it. I'm not happy with anything less. If our lights only gave us half the yield, I would have never continued down the LED path, as it would have been far too high a price to pay for something that is not there yet. To my understanding though Ken, you are not using a LED Grow Light. You are using a commercial white light, that they re-branded to sell as a grow light. If I'm correct, it lacks the reds and blues of lights like mine, and instead you get a mix of whites, which is practically the same as using CFL.
No I am using a different one. I think LEDgirl does a great job with hers I like seeing what she is doing with hers. I have a Grow Journal going with the one I am using. Sorry LEDgirl for jumping on your journal I shut up. Any updates LEDgirl?

Hey LEDgirl - I respect your views and like all that you say. Now all I want to see is the proof of what one can do on its own. I don't mean to be a sceptic and don't take this the wrong way... because I hope you appreciate I have been pretty supportive of your lights potential and certainly not anti it.. but ultimately it's your light and your livlihood so you're never going to say anything other than it's great. Now hear me out... I believe in ya... hence I am subscribed to the thread. The proof is in the pudding so to speak. Am wishing you a good grow and am v excited to see if all the science you are preaching (and that we have seen from your friends grow) lives up to expectations. Other than that it would of course be good for some independant reviews. I'm not about to rush out and buy a new light just yet but guaranteed... yours sits close to the top of the pile if not on top of it. I'll take up the challenge and see if I can get some good results from Procyon in the meantime... just for fun... my expectations are low and all I want is some Christmas smoke so no bother. BTW the reason I got excited about Dutch Green Growlights was because of this thread (http://www.softsecrets.nl/forum/viewtopic.php?p=93217#93217). It impressed me more than any other LED grows I have seen thus far minus your friends one with your lights. I'm no guru so perhaps it is a waste of money. More to the point... My utopian LED light is one that will, on it's own, grow me a good personal stash like my 250hps and be as low wattage as possible.. ideally 120ish (I'd be euphoric if something like that could match my 400hps in storage but for now I live in hope that the technology is out there or coming!)

Updates: it looks like the plants are finally starting to come out of their nute stress mode, although they are reaching nearly the 2nd week in bloom. They literally haven't grown an inch since switching to the full Humboldt Line, even after dialing it down. I'm contemplating whether or not to just cut the plants, and start over in a few days when my Advanced Nutrients Iguana Juice shows up. I'll run it with Hornby's Big Bud (not the new stuff), and there won't be any problems. I have a new set of healthy plants that would be ready to go by the time it gets here, so we'll see. I really don't want to try and make a demonstration of what these lights can do, with plants that have been stunted by nutes. I'd rather show it the whole way through with healthy plants, so you get a real representation of it.

To be quite honest LEDgirl I am not really sure on the light I have except for what Tim and CSU has told me. If I did not it grow and did not know Tim I would have most likely went with something else like yours. Like I said before this one I have is a test so it might not pan out and I'll have to go to something else. We just have to get rid of all the crap in our other site. I keep an eye out for you cause you have been increasing and seems to know how to grow. Keep up the work and updates PLEASE.

One of my customers had two of the Supernovas. Due to many faulty power supplies, and issues getting the units to function, he sent them back. He instead bought 8, 126W Penetrators, instead of the 2, 270W Supernova's. They have a lot of spectral output, missing a white filler, and giving you a 420nm blue that doesn't do anything for our plants. Other than that, the unit itself seems ok, minus the viewing angle of the LED. Too bad High Times is so slow about responding, or they'd have a light to test against it.
Have you seen the cost of them! i just took a look.. godamn... I'm not a poor man but I can't warrant spending that amount of money on a light for personal stash. It better had be good $999 and $1399. You could buy 2 of LED Girls 126 watters for that and have change left over.

I'm sure (and hope) it's a very good light for that amount of money but whether it's twice as good (debatable until a direct comparison watt for watt is performed) or not... it's still out of the price range of most amateur growers. Once you add onto that additional items you wish to buy (carbon filter, seeds etc)... it's a pricey setup.. particularly as it'll prob be an out of date light in another year (I learnt this the hard way). Even $450 is a lot for most people to blow on one light (NB I spent $600 on my Procyon and will never spend that amount of money on a light again). It all depends what you are after. I'm not knocking the light or your logic... just I personally could not justify such expenses. I do small grows with small plants for personal. And one of the main attractions for me is low wattage of LEDs in the first place. So it's subjective. Anyway - lets see what LEDGirls stuff can do.. that why I'm watching this thread. I'm sure some other threads will pop up for Supernova... but till the price comes down... it's out of my league so not a light I can consider. TBH I'm kinda hoping LED tech comes down in price and increases in performance. Is cool though that the tech is definitely progressing!
