Damn that SD looks tasty
I'll probably be putting off my next grow for a few months aswell for similar reasons. Do you have any ideas of what you might grow next?
yo smelly, i don't know yet... something in a sativa probably. i'll have to start a new round of research into it

Little bad new on my end homer. I stare at my plants for a while everyday. Good thing I noticed a few banana looking things growing on my biggest plant. Googles it, she wants to go hermie!! So I'm gonna cut my loss I'm giving her a quick flush than putting her in darkness for a few days.
So let this be a lesson to everyone who reads. I left a light on that's not even in my grow room, but in my hallway on almost all night. And even with the grow room door closed, just that tiny bit of light in the crack of the door made it turn. KEEP ALL LIGHT OUT!!! At dark time, that is lol
dude, sorry to hear about your hermies. hopefully they were far along enough that you can get some decent bud out of your grow. man it sounds so crazy to me that a little light can completely flip the gender pheno of these plants... i was pretty good about keeping the closet door closed every night, but the light in the room outside the closet i was less strict about, so i'm sure there was some light leak in, yet i got no hermie problem. maybe it's a combination of genetics and light leaks and maybe other stuff we're not even thinking about lol. anyway, good luck getting the most you can out of your sour d.
i think i am more of a fan towrds that purple deisel... it looks killer... does it have more of a indica kinda stoned to it?
hey micro, i'll tell you this. purple diesel was a little easier to grow than sour diesel... it was more well behaved, didn't need as much lst'ing, and the final product smells 20 times better than the sour d, and also looks better, more dense. also purple d has a pretty nice indica stoned effect, almost makes me wistful and nostalgic, which is nice some times especially at night, but i'm personally more of a sativa guy, i like the high energy fast thinking active high, that's why i like the sour diesel effect more, even though it's not as fragrant of a smoke.
all in all, both plants came out pretty awesome, if i do say so myself lol. i stopped at a dispensary yesterday to show the budtenders a couple sample buds, and they were very impressed! (they even said i would be a master grower some day lol, so that felt good). but they also took a close look at the trichs and said they were mostly clear in both plants, so my lesson is that even though i thought i was being super patient, i can go even longer next time around. also learned this: less ventilation during drying will be better because it'll slow down the drying process. that was my "one" mistake with sour d lol.
anyway, thanks everyone for the comments. i'm happy to keep this journal active during my growing hiatus, so if anyone posts anything i'll be sure to respond. and eventually i'll post a link to my new grow when i get there.
anyone have good suggestions for my next grow? (ideally a sativa with relatively short flower time and not too smelly?)
