1st medical grow.1400w

Whats up. this is my first grow after i recently obtaining my medical Rx in Oct 09. Here is my set up

8x6x7 framed tent with panda film split into 2 rooms(VEG and Flower)
400w MH over two 2x3 tables in veg room
1000w HPS over a 4x4 table in flower room
25 site clone machine
Botanicare Nutes, Using the "POOP SOUP" Recipe
Eventually Using Hydroton medium

I recently picked up some clones from fellow patients, all of which are already rooted in soil. So my plans were to veg these girls into mothers and take cuttings for my net pots filled with Hydroton.

3 Northern Lights
1 Plane Wreck
1 Indica
1 Sour Diesel

Heres pics of the ladies... I did just trasnplant them into MG soil so they are looking a little hurt. Bottom row from left to right.. Sour D, Indica, Plane Wreck. The top row is 3 Northern Lights. The other pic is of my Flower table 600w+400w=1000w!

So please comment.

I dont know if this is your first grow or not but i would stay away from the miricle grow soil. When i first started last year i though MG was the way to go and i found that once my plant went into flower and i would fertilize that the MG has time release nutes that will sometimes give your plant nute burn. Try to use something like Fox Farm or roots Organic that way you know what nutes the plant is using.

This is my first grow!! but ya I know bout the problems with MG soil. Since my system is hydro and these clones are in soil i was going to veg them as big as possible in the MG and take as many cuttings as i can to put into my cloner and start over with mothers in netpots.. then probably put these girls out side for the summer to flower in better soil ang BIG pots.

So i went to water/check on my girls today. and noticed a bunch of little white spots on the leaves of the sour Diesel. I turned a leave set over to find a bunch of little bugs!!! They must of just started bcuz all of the other plants were clean or at least nothing was showing up under the magnifying glass. I had some Surefire plant insect killer that i sprayed modestly over/under all the girls. It says to spray every 7-11days until bugs are gone and safe to use until 3 weeks before harvest. Hopefully this isnt the start of problems to come for me. Beside that all the girls are looking really happy. The Indica plant is deff the most sensitive( im guessing to the MG soil) out of all of them... it had two fan leaves that were completely yellow/dead.

New update....So last week the sour D and Plain wreck died from what i think was under watering?? which was weird because they were the biggest n healthy looking plants out of em all. I was able to get several clones of each in the cloner before pulling em as well as 15 new bigbud clones from a friend. I also picked up a Co2 system that im excited about. Probably on mothers day may 8th im going to put one of the NLs and several of the succesful clones outside. Overall the NLs and Indica are happy as can be. I was running into high temps max 89F which was one of the reason i picked up the Co2 system. Im running it for a 60mins when lights turn on and then 15 mins every two hours until lights off. I just installed today so ill upload pics in a couple days to show any new growth.

how did you let 2 plants die from underwatering? how long are you letting them go without water?

and 89 is on the high side as far as temp goes.... do you have an intake or exhaust?

i went out of town for the weekend and thought they had enough water to get by but i guess they didnt, and when i came home they were pretty much toast, lesson learned, but i was able to get several decent shape clones out of them..i have a 4'' exhaust running on timer with co2 that keeps it at 84.7 max now which seems to be just fine with the girls.

ahh, i see.... that's too bad. 85 is better, but a little lower would be better as the summer is approaching and it will def be getting warmer out, making it even harder to cool the tent. i have no experience with co2, but i would get an intake fan as well, considering the plants cant use co2 in the dark cycle (i think). i have no experience with open reflectors either, so I dont really have any suggestions for cooling the tent. this is a really good thread if you encounter any more problems... good luck!

co2 added 2-3 inches of new growth so far!!!!!

Some new pics of growth...Still no roots on clones. they were gettin a little burnt so i moved the light up 6 inches.
