Hey guys, I've been growing this girl for about 2 weeks. I started noticing these golden shiny spots on the leaves. They were left really close to CFL's for 1 day. The new leaves don't have anything but is my plant still healthy?

Miracle Grow soil
1 gallon bucket
no nutes yet
water every 3-4 days (when soil is dry 2 inches deep)
4 26watt daylight CFL's
using computer fans for ventalation

The first 2 pics are today, the other is 2 days ago.

DO NOT ADD NUTES!!!!!!!! MG has built in nutes that are time released when you water your plant. MG is all I've ever used, with success. Your plants look pretty good. I would just wait another week to see what happens.

What are your temps, day and night? How long do you leave your lights on? Are you checking the PH level of your water, and do you let the water stand for at least 24 hours (if using tap water)?

You won't need ANY NUTES until flowering.

def either cal or mag. prolly a lil of both.

could be nute lock since miracle grow has quite a few additives to it so it could just be a little acidic?

try adding some dolomite lime. like 1/2 tsp per gallon. max a full.

budbro18, have you grown MJ in MG soil before?

75-83 temp. I had it for 24hrs but switching to 18/6. no i dont have a ph soil meter, i heard miracle grow is always a steady ph so i just use tap water. Do you think it was light bleaching?

Which MG soil did you use? You don't need a soil PH meter to test your water. You need to buy the kit at the store, with drops. I don't veg with 24, but 18/6. MG is NOT always a steady PH. MG tends to be acidic, and more so as nute build up takes place.

probably isnt light bleaching that turns it whiteish yellow (thus the name "bleaching")

also since you are just using tap water that generally runs a little basic that could have something to do with it.

either way get some ph strips or a tester and put ph 7.0 water through it and see what the ph is when it comes out.

If its lower get some dolomite lime, if higher get some lemon juice.

Light bleaching is like regular bleaching, it turns spots white. The few MG soils I've used were solid in the PH department, so I doubt it's that; haven't used them a ton though, so there way be quirks that I missed. Store bought soils not labeled as "for acidic plants" generally have a PH in line with what you want on their own, in my experience. Has it been progressing over the last few days? If not, it's likely that the issue has already blown over.

Runoff ph tells you nothing, and is the least likely issue here.

I must have gotten lucky. Never had a ph issue in it. Though I used it in the ground and in smaller pots, which may explain why the PH never got nasty on me.

Here are some buds from 1 of my plants I just harvested, using MG MC soil. Some of the best weed I've EVER smoked.

but the ph is probably whats causing nute lock out since there are already nutes added to MG

calcium and magnesium are best absorbed between 7.0 ad 8.5

so maybe its acidic which can cause cal/mag lock out.
