$20 Chlorine Filter

So I am using beneficial bacteria and whatnot in my soil grows, so there is a need for chlorine free water and I know you hydro folks greatly benefit from it as well.

The guy at my hydro shop tried to sell me a filter for like $100, but I knew I could do better than that. After a little searching I found this

It attaches to your shower head and the replacement filters are only $10. I just take off my shower head and connect some tubing to the outlet. You now have chlorine free water for $20.

The filter says it removes 100% of chlorine and also removes scale, dirt, etc. Seems like a good alternative to expensive water filters.

Don't jump all over me, I know the other filters like RO are much better, but this is better than plain tap water. And getting the chlorine out of my water is really my only concern at this point.

Hopefully this will help someone.

Interesting..Did you actually add benefitial bacteria or what? Because if you didnt have that there would be no need for a water filter. Those bacteria better be worth that 20$!!

I did add the beneficials. They were like $20 and are suppose to increase yield like 30%-150% according to studies. Even a 1% increase makes it worth $20.

o cool, you could just try setting your water out for a night before watering so most of the chlorine evaporates. or go a step further and half a 5-20 gallon rez with airstone to keep fresh water in.

I read something about the water company adding chloramine which can't be bubbled out. And the air stones and pump are going to cost me $10-$20 anyway, so I may as well just get the filter and not have to bubble the water or worry about chloramine.

I already bought the filter and use it, so I'm not looking for alternatives for it. I'm more so informing people that think they have to spend $100 to get rid of the chlorine that they can do it for $20.
